Gabriel raised an eyebrow. Forgot.. or lied by omission? He was pretty sure he knew which one, but decided not to call her out on it. He had to go home for dinner soon, and he didn't want the last part of their conversation to end in another fight about her coming home. He could breach that subject again next time.

"It's okay. It's not like he asked, right?"

"Yeah," said Iris. "I mean it just happened last night." She gave him her best smile. She felt bad for lying to him. Iris then sighed. "Well there goes the mood..." She glanced out the window and then back at him. "Are you leaving?"

Gabriel paused and glanced at his watch.  It would be dinner time soon.  He needed to attend dinner so the kids wouldn't realize he had heard them.  Plus, Marinette was going to be at dinner.  Her thoughts toward Adrien's attitude would provide leverage if he could use it properly.

"I need to be home for dinner.  The kids might notice if I'm not there," he answered.

It took Iris a second to remember the kids were currently hanging out at their house. Their conversation went all over the place that she forgot. Iris couldn't help, but feel jealous that Gabriel gets to eat dinner with Marinette. Iris really wanted to get to know her. Then it dawn on her. "Wait. They're alone!? You left two 16 years old alone in a giant house!? Do you know what they could be doing!?"

Gabriel stared at her for a moment. He knew exactly what she was implying, but he just couldn't see it happening for some reason. Marinette was too responsible to have unprotected sex and even though Adrien was a hopeless romantic who loved to flirt, he would get flustered even thinking about it. His gut instinct firmly pointed to them not having sex until they were closer to adulthood.

Finally, he shrugged. "No need to worry. All they do when they're alone together is watch movies, play DDR, and cuddle.  They're both smart and responsible when it counts; even if Adrien doesn't always act like it."

Iris looked skeptical. "Gabriel, they're teenagers! With superpowers! If we were were them we would have sex!" She paused for a moment to lean in and kiss him. "Well if you trust them so I will." She then patted him on the cheek with her hand. "But I'm blaming you if we end up as young grandparents."

Gabriel leaned in as well, resting his forehead on hers as he gazed into her eyes. "It'll be fine. They're nothing like us in this department. And even if they do have sex before college, I trust them to take the proper precautions. I'm sure they understand the risks of an accidental pregnancy with our enemies about."

He waited just a moment before closing the gap between their lips and returning her earlier kiss. He sighed once they pulled away from each other. "I need to go. I'll see you later."

Iris smiled as Gabriel talked. She now felt calm about the whole thing. He was right. They could trust their son. She did tell Adrien, when he was younger to respect people and their personal spaces. She then closed her eyes, when he kissed her.

"Alright," Iris said and ran her hand through his hair. "I'll see you tomorrow night." She gave him a weak smile.

He nodded. "I love you," he said and only waited for her answer before leaving Fu's house with Lycca floating after him. He walked down the street a ways before entering an empty alley and transforming. 

It didn't take long for him to get home and enter his office as Hawk Moth. The teleportation he never used as a villain was a great way tot get around. He left his office and headed for the stairs. Might as well peak in on Marinette and Adrien; just to make sure he was still right about their decision making skills.

Iris sighed after Gabriel left her room. She sat there for a few minutes before getting up from her bed. She then left her room and headed into the kitchen. Iris decided to make a cup of a tea. She grabbed a tea pot from a cabinet and filled it up with water.

"Lycca and I finished the cleaning," Pain spoke up. She was floating above her owner.

"Great thanks," Iris replied weakly. She then put the tea pot on the stove.

Pain floated down to the kitchen counter and sat down. "You okay?"

"Huh?" Iris looked at her. "Yeah. Why?"

Her kwami gave her an intense stare before shaking her head. "No reason."

Iris just ignored her comment and opened up the cabinet that contain the tea bags.

Meanwhile Marinette and Adrien were still asleep on the couch. Both their kwamis were sitting on top of the couch. Tikki sighed. "I hope Lycca returns soon. I really want to know if I'm right." Earlier Plagg and Tikki tried to talk to him again and noticed he went missing along with Gabriel.

Gabriel quietly opened the door to Adrien's room and scanned the lower level for any sign of the teenagers. It took him a moment to find them as his eyes adjusted to the dimly lit bedroom, but finally he pinpointed them on the couch. Just as he thought, they still had all their clothes on even if they were asleep together. He paused for only a moment before quietly closing the door again. He could wake them for dinner.

Plagg's tail twitched as Gabriel closed the door. "Well speak of the devil. They're back. Do you want to go talk to Lycca now or give him a chance to relax first?"

Tikki thought for a moment. "Hmm let's wait until dinner. Our owners will be busy so there's a less of a chance of them eavesdropping on us."

Meanwhile Iris was sitting at the kitchen table drinking her tea. She held the mug in her hands and stared out the window. She should have gone back with Gabriel. Iris could tell her mind was at war. She sat at the mug down on the table. She was just letting the one side of her mind being stronger. Iris pulled her phone out of her pocket. 

She should try help somehow. Gabriel needed it. Iris pulled up her conversation with Adrien and typed up a message. Hey. How is everything? She hit send.

Adrien's eyes fluttered open as he suddenly became aware of his phone vibrating. He silently cursed his inability to sleep through such a quiet noise and turned his head just enough to see the edge of the coffee table where his phone lay. 

Slowly, he reached for his phone, trying not to move in a way that would wake Marinette. She was just too cute to wake when she was asleep. His hand felt around for the phone and grabbed when he felt it under his fingers.

It took a little maneuvering to hold it in a way he could comfortably see it without waking his girlfriend, and he smile when he saw who it was from. It'd been a while since he'd gotten a text from his mother. 

Good. How are you, he texted back.

Iris sighed at her son's reply. She was hoping for a little more detail. Some of her hair fell in front of her face and she blew it out of the way. Iris was going to push it out of him. Okay. Everything okay at home?


She put the phone down on the table. For some reason Iris felt nervous.

Adrien hesitated when he saw his mother's response. It was like she sensed something was going on. Or maybe she had heard something from his father.. Either way, he suddenly felt put on the spot. He could either lie or tell her the truth (omitting superhero business, of course). Would telling her the truth convince her to come home sooner?

Everything is going as well as it normally does, he finally answered noncommittally.
