Iris quickly leaped in her seat. "Or I can take you!" This was her chance to catch up with Adrien. Also to see his school and his classmates! But then she remembered her son was a teenager. She leaned back in her seat. "Or..not.."

Adrien smiled and gave her a shrug. "Sure. It would be nice to have someone talkative in the car for a change. It was always very quiet when Go... uh, my bodyguard drove me," he said. He didn't really want his mother to know he referred to his bodyguard as Gorilla.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow at Adrien but let whatever strange slip of the tongue go. He wasn't really fond of the idea of Iris driving Adrien; only because she'd be alone on the way back. "Once you drop him off, you'll be alone, Iris," he said, hoping that reminder would be enough for her to reconsider.

Iris gave her husband strange look. "Yeah so?" She then looked back at her son. "I'm glad you're okay with it. I really want to see your school." Iris then realized she needed to start taking pictures for the scrapbook. She just smiled to herself thinking about how she'll snag a picture of her son.

Gabriel crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. "It just seems counterproductive for you to safely accompany Adrien in case of the brothers attacking and then to drive back alone," he said, keeping his voice neutral. He wasn't really interested in starting a fight over this, but he couldn't help disliking the idea of her being vulnerable for any stretch of time.

Adrien glanced at his father and then at his mother sensing a disagreement. He hated to admit his father had a point about safety, but he felt no need to jump in and voice his opinion. His parents could figure it out. Instead, he finished up his food and headed back upstairs to collect his mountain of completed homework for school.

Iris looked at Gabriel after Adrien left. "Gabe, I'm not taking Adrien to school because of safety. I'm doing it because I'm his mother and I want to make up for all the things I miss." Her look turned into annoyed look.

"And I'm not stopping you from doing that. It's just, I suggested Adrien not walk to school because of safety, and now I'm worried about your safety on the way back," Gabriel answered. So many things could happen even in such a short time.

"Yes you are. At least you want to," she said. Iris stood up and grabbed her coffee mug. She wasn't thinking about eating anymore. "I know you, Gabe. I'm taking Adrien and that's final. I will be fine." Iris then walked away and left the room to go check on Adrien.

Gabriel sighed and mentally hit his forehead. Of course she wouldn't see it his way. There was no way she would connect her disappearance with his current anxiety about her being in public alone..

Adrien bit his lip in concentration as he tried to get all of his homework and school books into his bag. The books could just fit, but it left no room for the different folders of work. He didn't really want to carry the folders outside of the bag. One wrong move and he'd end up with loose papers everywhere. So he groaned and resigned himself to carrying a few of the books outside of the bag. He jumped in surprise as he turned around with his packed bag and books. He hadn't heard his mother come in.

"Hey. How'd your conversation with father go?"

She shrugged. "Your father clearly think it's unsafe for me to drive back home alone, but I put my foot down." Iris walked over to her son and grabbed his books from out of his hands. She gave him a smile. "Ready?"

Adrien nodded, giving her a grateful look for taking the books. "Yeah, I'm ready," he said. They headed out of the room to the car, Adrien deep in thought about his father's words. The over-protectiveness reminded him of all the restrictions he'd had placed on him during the six years his mother was gone.

Iris started the car and pulled out onto the street. As she was driving Adrien to school she remembered that she needed to renew her driver's license. So she made sure she was obeying the law.

Along the way she chated with Adrien. Her anger toward Gabriel's behavior faded away. When she pulled up to the school, Iris quickly pulled out a digital camera from her purse. Before going to Adrien's room Iris tore apart her bedroom looking for it. Gabriel probably was annoyed with the mess she made.

"Adrien, smile!" She said. Iris held up the camera. "Let's pretend it's your first day of school!"

Adrien involuntarily smiled and fell into a pose; so used to modeling that it took a moment for his thoughts to catch up. He thought his mother was just going to drop him off at school. Still, he had no problem doing what she asked since he knew how important pictures were to her. It wouldn't take too long or be too much of a hassle. Right?

Iris snapped a photo and grinned at her son. "Prefect! As always!" She put the camera away in her purse. "Well have a good day at school. Oh! Am I picking you up or are you going to hang out with your friends?"

Adrien paused to think about it and shrugged. "I'm not sure. I'll text you at lunch. Thanks for driving me," he answered. "I'll see you later."

"Alright," said Iris. The moment Adrien opened the door and was getting out of the car. Iris saw his friends standing there waiting for them. A smile appeared on her face and she waved at them. "Marinette, Alya, Nino! Hi!"
