| Well, since this is the only section with no threads, I think we should start one... anyone like this one? It's probably my second favorite season of Precure, and I really like Miki and Setsuna... |

| I haven't watched much of Fresh, but it actually was the first Pretty Cure series I've attempted! I decided to try out Fresh first because I absolutely loved Cure Peach's design. Still do, honestly, she's probably my favorite Pretty Cure, design wise, anyway. I'd honestly love to continue watching it, but my attention span with anime is so bad, I don't know if I'm able to. Maybe someday~ |

| You should. Their mid-season arc and their finale are awesome! |

| In my opinion this is the best Precure season. The characters are really well written and the vilians are great. Sadly I didn't get to finish it due not being able to find more sub uploads. I need to rewatch the series. I'm sure somewhere has it uploaded fully subbed. |

| I've only seen the first few episodes, for whatever reason, it ends up being the season I keep putting off. I've liked what I've seen, I just haven't looked into it any further for now.
Right now I'm trying to finish Max Heart while I also keep up with Go Princess Precure, so Fresh is definitely next on my "Precure backlog" journey |

| After watching some of the later series, Fresh really lived up to its name. I liked how the fights didn't run on a specific, repetitive formula like Heartcatch and the villains didn't spout the same lines over and over like in Smile. They don't even teleport away after the fights. This was probably the only Precure season where I was never really bored watching. Tarte is definitely my favorite Precure mascot and it took me a while to realize that he didn't have one of those sentence ending noises like Candy's "-kuru". Instead he just talks with an Osaka accent, and considering another famous magical girl mascot who does that... yea, I'm okay with that. The villains are probably one of the best things about Fresh. I watched Splash Star and Yes Precure 5 afterward and I was really disappointed with how bland and cliche the villains were. Aside from having personality quirks, they were just generic "I'm evil I do evil things mwahaha!" villains. But here, Fresh's cast of antagonists feel much more human. They get real development and have a real purpose for doing what they do, rather than just doing sadistic, dickish things for the sake of it. And unlike Splash Star, they don't just show up for seven episodes in a row before being killed off. I was watching Fresh on a tablet, so I didn't notice any of the real animation goofs, except the ones I was already aware of, like this. There's just... so many things wrong with this. Gonna continue the rest in spoilers because Bunnybelle or someone else might check this thread and might not want to be spoiled. - Spoiler:
I really liked how Fresh addressed the idea of the Cures having to struggle to keep their personal hobbies (dancing) while still balancing their responsibilities as Precure. A lesser show would have told them that they should give up on having any kind of social life so they can wander the streets all day looking for monsters (Obligatory Madoka slam!) But instead, they decide that their passion is just as important as their duties, and manage to find a compromise.
I also felt like the monsters in Fresh were among the more creative, with unique and unexpected powers, like the one that can erase things from reality or the hilarious wig monster. It made the fights interesting in a way that a lot of the more recent seasons haven't had.
And speaking of Passion, wow the Setsuna arc was really great. The final fight between Peach and Eas, the utterly chilling "Eas will die soon" thing, and her revival as Cure Passion, where she doesn't immediately join the team. All of it was just beautiful. The only ugly part was Miki barging into an emotionally wounded Love's room and YELLING at her that her friend Setsuna never existed and to get up so they can head to the fortune teller house. That was probably the only thing in Precure that ever legitimately angered/disgusted me.
Then of course there's the finale. I can't say that I've ever seen a Precure finale done better than that. I loved how even the supporting cast like Tarte had an important role in changing things for the better. The finale concludes everything of value in a very satisfying way except for one thing.... we never found out what the deal was with Kaoru-chan, the doughnut settling guy. He had a focus episode about being a secret agent, which was WEIRD, but other than that, nothing.

| Setsuna/Cure Passion was like always my favorite character in this anime.
She was amazingly cool IMO.
Also the story was pretty deep and moving overall. It was nice :)
And whenever Tarte said "I'm not a ferret! I'm a CUTE CUTE FAIRY!", i just couldn't help but make a huge grin x3; Tarte was a great mascot. |
