So while I was browsing YouTube yesterday, I came across a video where Haruka Tomatsu (Cure Fortune in HapCha Precure, Asuna in Sword Art Online) did a cover of the opening theme to Ojamajo Doremi at a concert.

Haruka Tomatsu  is one of my favourite Japanese VAs and I love the Doremi OP so I really liked it. But it also made me think about other artists and bands doing covers of songs from Magical Girl anime.

Does anyone here have any other examples? I'd love to hear them

I actually love collecting magical girl cover songs. but I'll just post some fun ones ^^; 

Animetal Lady (a popular cover band, so maybe this is obvious)

Shoko Nakagawa and Halko Momoi have some cover albums under their belts too that have some magical girl tracks on there

always a fun one to run into - for whatever reason, Japanese military bands really play a lot of anime songs. Magical girls are no exception

Speaking of The World God Only Knows, I found this cover of the Revolutionary Girl Utena OP by Ami Koshimizu who also voiced Hibiki Hojo/Cure Melody in Suite Precure and is currently playing Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter in Sailor Moon Crystal (Not sure anyone still cares about SMC anymore but worth mentioning).

I recently discovered this cover of Otome no Policy by Shoko Nakagawa (voice of Diana in Sailor Moon Crystal), and I am in love! It's really similar to the original, but I think it's much better. I especially love how they replaced the guitar with a synth. It's very...space sounding, very fitting for Sailor Moon!
