I thought I had done the thing that would let me get this too late. I even cancelled out of it when it seemed like I wouldn't get the demo, but I did! O_O

For some reason every time I try to download ANYTHING off of the E-shop, it stops downloading after a while. The little racks that drop balls into the icon come up empty after a while. At least putting the system in sleep mode gets it to download.

I got two codes so ended up giving one away. The game is pretty! I can't wait to get my hands on it. I wish we got a free Steelix like Japan did. >.>

SIGH. My copy of Alpha Sapphire is supposed to be arriving soon, but tomorrow being Thanksgiving mean the mail won't be coming.

I'm happy to learn that this game can freely transfer with Pokemon Bank, the price being that items can't transfer. I'm gonna have to get a friend to bounce some things.

So apparently some guy in Japan traded his Kyogre all the way from Saphire to Alpha Saphire and got an in game certificate said to be sent from the Gamefreak staff. Now I feel really bad for losing my copy of Saphire back in 2005.

How do you transfer pokemon from the gen 3 games?

Ooooh lordy you have to transfer from all of the past generations.

You need a DS with a Gameboy Advance slot in order to transfer from Gen 3 to 4, you need two DS systems to transfer between Gens 4 and 5, and you need a DS and a 3DS to transfer between Gens 5 and 6.

Most of my best Pokemon are from Gen 3, so I'll be sure to get that certificate thing.

Gen 3 can transfer to Gen 4 if you use a weird trick that requires the GBA cartridge slot on the old DS. Gen 4 and Gen 5 were both DS so they can transfer without any trouble and I think Gen 5 to Gen 6 is the same process even though the latter is on the 3DS.

It'd be a long, painful process but it's definitely possible.

The certificate specifically mentioned his 'bond with Kyogre' so I'm thinking it's only Groudon and Kyogre

Well I have the pokemon bank which allows you to transfer gen 5 to gen 6.

My copy of Alpha Sapphire has finally arrived. I got bored yesterday and bred up a couple of choice pokemon. Shroomish + Poison Heal ability + Toxic Orb + Mega Drain + Leech Seed = HP up the wazoo.

I've already beaten the second gym. This is loads easier than the original, no doubt thanks to features like finding Pokemon with special moves via Dexnav.

I won't even need to transfer my Pokemon over to Kalos to level them up.

Trying to decide on an entirely Hoenn based team has brought something to my attention.

There are A LOT of water types. There's newly introduced pure water types like Wailmer, and there's loads and loads of unique type combos.

Lotad family is water/grass.
Relicanth is water/rock.
Wingull family is Water/flying.
Swampert and Whiscash are water/ground.
Sharpedo and Craudaunt are water/dark.
Spheal family is water/ice.

Have you ever played gen 3? Those combos have been like that since the originals.

I have, but at the time I usually used pokemon from other generations. This time I wanted a team of mostly Hoenn Pokemon.

I'm working toward the fourth badge at the moment. I am so behind, but I play pokemon slowly. Also I am trying to catch them all because of the Dexnav.

Being a nerd is finally paying off. I feel like being able to recognize the cries of Pokemon is really helpful when it comes to the Dexnav feature.

I've already gotten five badges and am currently at the Weather institute. Can't say I'm thrilled with the way they just hand Lati@s to you, but we've caught it in plenty of other games.

Another thing that's been helpful is having so many Pokemiles. Thanks to my Bank being stuffed with one of literally every Pokemon and all of the Vivillion forms, I rack up Pokemiles like crazy, and if you go to the Global Link site, you can transfer your Pokemiles from one game to the other. So all of the unused Pokemiles I had been storing in X allowed me to buy tons of healing items in Alpha Sapphire. Definitely want to save up my money for secret base decorations.
