Adrien stared at the door for a moment, completely surprised by her sudden dismissal. He thought they were having a nice conversation. Did he say something wrong? He shook his head and walked away from her office. She was probably busy. She may have even remembered something she had to do.

"Is that your girlfriend?" Plagg whispered from the collar of Adrien's shirt.

Adrien shook his head after a quick scan of the hallway to make sure no one was watching. "Why would you ask that? I barely know her. We're just working together on a project for my father."

Plagg snorted, and Adrien could feel the kwami's tail twitching against the fabric of his shirt. "Please. She was super nervous. Humans only ever get that way if they have anxiety or if they're in love. I should know. I've seen enough obnoxious romances play out over the millennia."

Adrien rolled his eyes. "Well, you're wrong this time," he said as he pushed the elevator button.

"Whatever you say," Plagg muttered in a way that definitely had undertones of the kwami thinking him an idiot for not seeing something so obvious. He entered the elevator and was halfway to his floor when he realized he forgot to tell Marinette his father's message. Well, he'd just have to tell the truth and take his father's ire.

Hours later, work was letting out. Adrien was happy he was going up instead of down. His elevator was completely empty as the other employees worked their way to the ground floor so they could go home. 

He arrived on Marinette's floor and quickly walked to her door. Then he knocked twice and waited for her to answer.

The sounds of typing echo throughout a room. A girl name Alya Cesaire was one of those people typing at their computers. She was a reporter for one of Paris's top newspapers, Paris Daily. Unfortunately she was at the bottom of the totem pole. As in she only got to report small things and her articles were generally in the back of the newspaper.

Alya let out a feint sigh and lean back in her seat. She was currently writing an article about the importance of covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough. She hated this assignment. This was not why she wanted to be a journalist. Report stupid common sense things about everyday life. She wanted to report big things. Exciting things! Things that got her on the top of the newspaper!

She tapped her fingers on the side of her chair. It was sad that the most exciting thing that happened today was talking to her friend Marinette about her new crush and work assigment. She was happy for her friend. That things were going well in both departments, but she couldn't help feel a little jealous. The only thing she had going was she was hired on the spot. She didn't have to deal with an internship.

Alya then noticed a man run past her. He had a paper in his hand and he sat down at his desk which was behind Alya. She turned around. The man's name was Bruce. He was one of the top reporters. Alya was curious about why he was running. She turned around and faced him. "What's up, Bruce?"

"Not now, Alya," he replied not looking up from his computer. "I need to work on this article asap! The boss wants it to be published and posted online at once."

"What's it about?"

"That cat boy and bug girl that were spotted last night. Paris Weekly beat us to it this morning! So during lunch I went out on the streets and manage to interview people who saw them!"

Alya's eyes widen. This was what she wanted to report on! "Do you need help?"

"No. Stick with your assignments."

She frowned and turned around. Oh well. It was worth a shot.

Meanwhile Marinette sat her desk. She was working on her sketches for that jacket. She had multiple designs going. Marinette's eyes travled to the clock that was on the wall. It was getting close to her modeling lessons with Adrien. She was feeling anxious. She thought back to her talk with Alya. All she had to do was to take deep breaths. That should calm her down. She went back to her sketchbook.

At exactly four o clock there was a knock on the door. Marinette slowly stood up and walked over to the door. She placed her hand on the handle and took a deep breath. She could do this! Marinette opened the door and saw Adrien standing there. "Hey."

Adrien smiled as she opened the door. "Hey.  Are you ready for your lesson?" He asked, his voice full of excitement. He'd never taught others how to model. They usually were already trained by the time his father hired them.

Across town, a young cop fresh out of the academy scoured newspaper clippings for information. None of the stories held much detail other than the fact there were two mysterious people dressed as a cat and a ladybug jumping around the rooftops. He frowned and wished he could have found more. This would be an amazing investigation to start his career.

"Nino! What are you doing looking over all those newspapers? We have work to do," his senior officer,  Lamar Barteau, said as he approached the desk.

Nino held back a frown before answering. "I was looking for information about the suspicious individuals that were jumping around last night, sir."

Officer Barteau shook his head. "Put that away. You know that's not our assignment. Now let's go. We're late for patrol."

"Yes sir," Nino said as he gathered the papers and shoved them in his drawer. He'd have to look at them during his downtime.

Marinette felt her heart leap, when Adrien smiled at her. She was trying to remain calm. She slowly nodded her head and let him in. Marinette closed the door behind them. She then took a deep breath. She could do this!

She turned around to face him. "So shall we get started?" Marinette gave herself a mental high five. She was able to speak a clear sentence!
