Ladybug nodded her head. "I think so.." She climbed on to his back and held on tightly with her left arm. It was difficult, but somehow she manage. 

Rin used a spell on Peacock threw her into a building. She crashed through the brick and was sitting in the rubble. She slowly stood up ingoring the pain. Peacock wasn't going to lose to him. She pulled out her fans and threw them at him. He dodged and she came running at him, when she was about to kick him he grabbed her leg. He then twisted it which caused her to fall to the ground. Rin stood over her and bend down to grabbed her miraculous.

Chat paid careful attention to her grip on him as he carried her to her balcony, unsure where else to take her.  "Do you have any ideas on how to trick your parents?" He asked.

Hawk Moth made it to the scene just as their enemy was about to take Peacock's miraculous. He didn't take the time to strategise before teleporting behind the man and ramming the handle of his sword into his enemy's side as hard as possible while forcing him a few meters away from Peacock.  Once they were away from Peacock, he sidestepped the man to face him and slashed at his torso, not holding back.

"We're technically suppose to be in class, Chat. I can't be here..," said Ladybug. "I have no idea what to tell them." she flinched. The pain in her arm was getting worse. "Just take me to the hospital. I'll think of something.."

Both Hawkmoth's attacks caught Rin off guard. Peacock used this chance to get away. She rolled over and pushed herself off the ground. She turned and saw Rin standing there with his arm covering his torso. He was bleeding. Peacock couldn't make out how bad it was.

Rin growled and just disappeared. The bats from the shadow beast vanished as well.

Peacock looked over at Hawkmoth. She was fighting the urge to run over to him and hug him. "Thank you.."

Chat nodded and took off from her balcony towards the hospital. He dropped into an alley nearby and detransformed before letting her down. "I'll go in with you," he said, as if that wasn't obvious.

Hawk Moth watched the man disappear, frustrated he didn't have the chance for another attack first. Superhero or not, he was not above ending these brothers if it meant finishing this war. He quickly flicked his sword to get rid of some of the blood before sheathing it and nodding at Peacock.  

"I'm glad I could make it in time," he answered.

When Adrien let her down, Ladybug dropped her transformation. She held back a yelp from the pain in her arm. The kwamis hid in Marinette's purse. They then both walked into the hospital and headed to the ER. Once they got there, Marinette explained to a person behind the desk that their school was attacked by these monster like bats. While she was running away from them, they caused her to trip down the stairs and break her arm. Luckily the person bought it and had someone escort to a doctor.

Peacock just stared at him with longing look.

Hawk Moth raised an eyebrow in confusion. He couldn't quite decipher the look on her face, and he wondered if she was injured. He walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Everything okay? Are you hurt?"

Peacock felt her heart flutter, when he placed his hand on her shoulder. She really wanted to hug him, but resisted the urge. So Peacock just shook her head. "No I'm fine." Then she remembered about the children. "Ladybug is hurt. I had Chat take her to safety. We need to see if they're both alright. I hope all of the bats vanished with Rin. Oh that's his name by the way."

Hawk Moth nodded at the information and removed his hand from her shoulder once he knew she was okay. "Chat told me she has a broken arm. Hopefully, they made it the hospital without too much trouble. I'm going to go check after I detransform. You're welcome to come if you have your disguise with you."

Adrien sighed, fidgeting as he waited in the crowded waiting room. It was only a broken arm. Nothing too serious in the grand scheme of things, but he couldn't help but worry as he waited.  There's was always the chance it would be a very bad break that could require more than just a cast. Not that Marinette had acted like it hurt more than a normal broken arm would as far as he could tell... Hopefully, they would finish soon.

Peacock shook her head. "No I don't have my disguise on me." She looked away when she realized that she should always should have it on her. What if she detransform against her will or didn't have enough time to get away? "Well I'll see you later. I'm sure Ladybug will be okay. It's only a broken arm." She then flew off.

It seem like hours to Marinette as the doctor fixed her arm. They gave her X-ray first to determined the fractures. Then she wait a bit before getting her cast. While she waited both of her parents showed up and she told them about "how it happened". She used the same story gave the person behind the desk in the ER. She also told them Adrien helped her get to the hospital due to the panic at school due to the bats. Luckily they believed her. The doctor returned and she got a cast. Unfortunately she had to wear for at least six weeks! How was she going to stop the bat?

Both Marinette and her parents left the room and found Adrien in the waiting room. They walked over to him and Marinette gave him a smile. "Want to be the first one to sign my cast?"

Adrien grinned relieved to see her, despite the non life-threatening nature of breaking an arm, and nodded. "It would be an honor.  I don't suppose you have a marker on you?"

Gabriel entered the hospital just as Adrien was speaking and paused for a moment, wondering if he should wait until later. There was no doubt his presence would irritate Adrien to some degree. But he shrugged to himself a moment later an walked over. 

He nodded to Marinette's parents. "Good afternoon.  Adrien told me he had to take Marinette to the hospital, so I thought I'd come see how everything's going." He eyed the cast on Marinette's arm. "Good to see you seem well."

Before Marinette could say anything Mr. Agreste greeted them. She just smiled at him and nodded her head. "Yes. I'm in this cast for six weeks."

Marinette's dad looked at his daughter and then at Mr. Agreste. "I hope I'm not being rude, but we need to get going. Marinette needs her rest and my wife and I need to get back to the bakery. I hope to see you soon, Gabriel." He looked at Adrien. "Same to you."

"Bye," said Marinette to Adrien. She knew she he would come by later. She then left with her parents.

"Bye," Adrien said and watched as Marinette left with her parents. He glanced at his father wishing he hadn't come to the hospital. Now they would have to go home together. Not that he could go home as Chat. Even he knew doing so would be reckless after what happened today.

They exited the hospital and waited in silence for the car. The sidewalk was too crowded with people for them to talk about the fight earlier, and Adrien had nothing to offer as conversation. His father seemed to take that as a 'don't talk to me' signal and obliged; though, Adrien didn't mind either way at the moment.

Finally, the car came and Gorilla stepped out and walked around to open the doors for them. They rode home in continued silence. It was only when they entered the house and Gorilla left that Adrien looked at his father.  "How's Peacock?" He asked.

"She's fine. I got there in time to keep Rin away from her, and I injured him in the process."

Adrien nodded, letting a little bit of relief show on his face.  "Good."

"Are you visiting Marinette tonight?" His father asked suddenly.

Adrien bit his lip. It was stupid and dangerous to go out while they couldn't purify the bat that was who knows where in the city. Still, he wanted to see her and he knew his father would not be happy about him going out alone. "I wanted to," he finally answered.

"I'll go with you.  And then you can let me know when you're ready to come home and I'll wait for you in the car down the street."

Adrien stared at his father.  He had expected an all out refusal. "What, are you just going to sit in a car all night?"

"It won't be all night. You have a curfew.  Remember?"

"Right.."

Hours later, Chat traveled over rooftops with Hawk Moth towards Marinette's house. Never in his life had he considered this situation to be something to actually happen, but here they were. Hawk Moth occasionally tried to start a conversation, but Chat was more interested in getting to where they were going, so Hawk Moth eventually dropped all conversation.

They both landed on Marinette's roof, and Chat dropped down onto the deck with little effort. "I'll call you when I'm ready," he said. Hawk Moth only nodded before disappearing. With that, Chat tapped on the window and waited to be let in.

When Marinette got home from the hospital, she went straight to her bedroom and took a nap. Today's fight wore her out. She slept for about an hour and when she got up, Marinette checked her phone. She saw a message about Alya regarding the fight. Marinette felt bad for not texting her while in the hospital. So she explained everything in a text and hit send. Marinette then got up from bed and went down to the lower part of her room.

Tikki floated over to her. "How you feeling?"

"Okay. I don't know what we're going to do. I'll be difficult to purify the bat shadow beast. I bet Peacock and Mr. Agreste let it get away.. I wonder what happened to Rin. He seems scary.."

"He does. We better keep an eye out for him."

Marinette nodded her head.

"Well the important thing is you're okay. You'll just have to use your left arm and let the others do most of the fighting."

She sighed. "Our team sucks.." she sat down at her desk chair.

Tikki flew over to over and stopped right in front of her. "Things will get better!" She gave her a smile.

Marinette couldn't help, but smile back. "I hope so." She then turned her attention to Adrien's hoodie. She turned herself around her chair and looked down at her floor. The hoddie pieces were spread out across the floor. Everything was ready. She just needed to sew it all together on her sewing machine. She got up from her chair and gather all of the pieces. She moved her chair over to the sewing machine and saw down. When she started to sew the first two pieces, the machine made a strange noise and the needle stopped moving. Marinette froze. Did it break!? She checked to see if the thread was jammed and it wasn't. She turned it off and then turn it back on. Marinette tried to sew the pieces again and the needled wouldn't move.

"Is it broken?" asked Tikki and looked concern.

"I think so..," Marinette whined. "This day couldn't get any worse.." She buried her head in the fabric.

"Is it old?"

"Yes. It was my mother's."

Tikki patted her on the head. "Maybe your parents will buy you a new one."

Marinette jumped up from her chair. "Yeah!" she ran downstairs and found her mother in the kitchen. "Mama?"

"Yes dear?" Her mother turned to look at her daughter.

"My sewing machine broke. Can I get a new one?"

"Oh, sorry, dear. Maybe for Christmas?"

Marinette looked heart broken. "But why?"

"Because I'm sure you want a machine with extra features which is expansive."

Marinette couldn't help, but pout. Now what was she going to do? She couldn't sew the hoodie by hand. The cast would make it difficult. "It's fine. I understand." she went back to her room and collapse on her lounge couch.

"I take it your parents said no?" asked her kwami.

She looked up at Tikki. "Unfortunately. Now what am I going to do? I can't sew by hand with a cast."

"Maybe your mom could do it?"

"No. This gift has to come from me."

"I'm sure you'll think of something."

Marinette just let out a sigh. "Might as well do my homework." she got up from her couch and went over to her desk. She started on the homework that was assign before the bat attack.

Later that night she heard a tap on her window. She jumped. It was Adrien! She quickly hid the hoodie pieces her closet and then up to her loft to let him. She opened the window. "Hey."

Chat slipped in with a grin, losing his transformation by the time his feet touched the floor.  "Hey.  How are you doing?" He asked, looking towards her arm as it would magically look different from earlier.  Nope.  Still just a cast.  He wondered if she still wanted him to sign it.

"Alright," she said. Marinette sat down on her bed. She let out a sigh due to still being upset about her sewing machine. "This day sucks. My sewing machine broke." She let out another sigh. Might as well tell him. "I was working on your birthday present and now I can't finish it due to my arm being broken. I'm sorry.."
