Marinette laughed. "You aren't missing anything. It's really boring." She just gave him a stupid smile.

"No she didn't," Fu said. "She has something else in mind." he took another sip of his tea. "She said she would come by after school so I'll let her tell you." he placed the tea cup down and sighed deeply. "Gabriel, I'm not going to take the butterfly miraculous back."

Wayzz looked shocked. He was certain Fu was going to take it back from him. He just quietly sip his tea.

Fu looked at the two kwamis and then looked back at Gabriel with a huge grin. "You and Lycca seem perfect for each other. It seems you control his emotions very well." He poured more tea into his cup. "He's very emotional if you haven't noticed."

Adrien shrugged.  "Then you'll have more fun if someone is with you," he said, giving her a determined look.  

Gabriel and Lycca both stared at Fu when he said he wasn't going to take the miraculous back.  After all he'd done that abused Lycca's power, losing it seemed like a given.  He didn't realize how relieved he would be to keep the miraculous and its occasionally annoying kwami. 

Lycca crossed his arms and glared at Fu. "I am not over emotional," he protested. 

Gabriel ignored him and looked at Fu. "If you say so.." He wasn't sure what else to say.  His mind had already wandered to what exactly Marinette was planning.  She was definitely smart.  What could she have in mind that would help?  And then there was Adrien... He couldn't even begin to think of how Adrien felt at this point.

"You are a good fit for a miraculous," Fu spoke with a reassuring smile. "You're just a lost soul." He looked over at the clock on the wall. Marinette should be here soon.

"Alright let's go," Marinette said giving in. Now she was going to have to ditch him. Both of them walked down the street and entered a small grocery store that was on the corner. Marinette grabbed a basket and they walked down an aisle.

How she was going to ditch him? She couldn't use a lame excuse anymore. Both of them knew the bathroom excuse. As they walked down the aisle an idea hit her. She lead them to the back of the store which had the fridge goods.

"My mom wanted me to pick up some," she paused and stopped in front of a fridge case. "cheese."

Adrien smiled triumphantly as Marinette gave in and they headed to the grocery store.  All he had to do was watch her closely and hang out with her tonight.  Then he could go home, and hopefully she wouldn't get the chance to do anything drastic.  It wasn't the best plan, but it could work short-term until he could convince her she was wrong for once.

He was too busy thinking to notice as they walked down a very dangerous aisle.  That is, until she said the magic word.  Cheese.

He only had a second to glare before Plagg shot out of his pocket and through the glass of the fridge.  Adrien fumbled with trying to keep the door open and simultaneously catch the evasive kwami.

"Plagg, get over here!" He whispered, trying to grab him and just missing.

It took at least 15 minutes to get his kwami, and Adrien wondered if Plagg was doing that on purpose.  Of course, Marinette was probably halfway across the city by now; if not at his father's office.

He exited the store and called Gorilla.  Maybe he could get there before she went through with it.


Gabriel stayed silent, eyeing the clock.  A lost soul, huh? 

Lycca looked quite pleased as he took another sip of his tea.  "Of course, I chose well.  I can read people just as easily as you, ol- uh, Master Fu."

Fu just laughed at Lycca. "Nice cover up, Lycca." he sipped his tea and remembered something. "Speaking of that. Lycca, I want my book back."

Marinette ran off, when Adrien was distracted by Plagg. Her plan worked! She felt bad, but she had to talk his father. Get both the view points of both sides. Once she was outside of the store, Marinette ran into an alley and transformed into Ladybug. It would be the fastest way to get to his father's office. She made to his office and no time and detransformed in an alley nearby. Marinette walked inside and was stopped by a security guard. His desk was right near the entryway.

"And where do you think you're going?" he asked her.

"To see Mr. Agreste. I'm Adrien's girlfriend and I need to talk to his father about something. It's a family emergency," Marinette replied.

The guard looked her over. "Yeah, and I'm the queen of England. Go home kid." He grabbed her by the arm and forced her outside.

"But I'm telling the truth!" Marinette spoke and broke free of his grip. 

"If you are then, when where's Adrien?"

"He got caught up at school and told me go ahead without him. Do you not recognize me from tabloids?"

"I don't read them." The guard then walked back inside of the office.

Marinette screamed internally. Of course he wouldn't! She'll just have to make a run for it. So she bolted through the door and ran toward the elevators. Marinette could hear the guard calling after her. To the left of the elevators was a door to a stairwell. She opened the door and went inside. Marinette ran up the stairs and when she got up to eighth floor. She realized going to have to lose the guard. He knew her destination after all. She looked down the rail and could see the guard was coming up fast. Then all of the sudden the eighth floor door opened and there was another guard. He saw her. Panicked Marinette turned around and opened the door the eighth floor.

She entered a hallway and turned to the right. Marinette could hear the guards entering the hallway. She quickly went into a door which appeared to be a dressing room. Luckily no one was in here. She spotted a door in the back of the room and hid in there. Marinette then heard the two guards coming into the room and were now searching for her.

Tikki popped out of Marinette's purse. "Transform and use Lucky Charm."

"What good will that do?" Marinette question her kwami.

"Trust me."

"Tikki, spots on!" Marinette whispered and turned into Ladybug. She then tossed her yo-yo up into the air. "Lucky Charm!" A radio then appeared in her head. She was confused until she realized what will happened. She turned it on and magical radio made it sound like there was a loud crash coming from another room.

"She must be in the photoshoot room!" the other guard said. Both of them left the room.

Ladybug opened the door and walked over to the other door. She poked her head out and didn't see the guards anywhere. She detransformed and Tikki returned to her bag and started eating a cookie. Marinette returned to the stairwell and climbed the stairwell. She opened the doors along the way seeing how she had no idea where Adrien's father office was. Marinette eventually found it. A secretary gave it away. She was sitting at her desk and was on the phone. Marinette beeline to Mr. Agreste's office's door.

"I understand," she said. "I'll keep my eye out." she hung up and saw Marinette was about to walk into Mr. Agreste's office. The secretary ran over to her and grabbed her by the arm. "You young lady have caused a lot trouble."

"Let go!" Marinette protested. "I need to talk to Mr. Agreste."

"I'm sorry, but I cannot allow you."

"But I'm Adrien's girlfriend!" 

"Sure you are."

"Ugh! Does no one read tabloids around here?"

"Mr. Agreste does not allow those kind of magazines in here."

Marinette sighed angrily and allowed the secretary to pulled her to the sitting area. She sat down on a chair.

"Now, stay here. You will be escorted out of the building." she turned around and went behind her desk. She picked up her phone and when she started to dial a number, there was a loud crash. The secretary looked up saw the plant she wondered earlier fell off its stand. The vase it was in shattered into pieces. 

Marinette used this to run to the door. Tikki flew back into her purse without being spotted. She was the one who pushed the vase. She opened the door.

"Young lady!!" the secretary shouted who noticed her opening the door. She ran after her and they both entered the office. "Gotcha!" she grabbed her by the arm.

"Let go of me! I'm telling the truth!" Marinette shouted.

Fu couldn't help, but chuckle at this. "Well at least it's hard for a teenager to get in, Gabriel."

Gabriel stared at the secretary for a moment. It would be so easy to avoid whatever situation he was about to be part of. But that wouldn't be helpful to him, and there was no reason to believe Marinette had anything hostile in mind since Fu had already decided he wasn't taking Lycca or the miraculous back. So what was she planning?

Gabriel stood, making himself more imposing than he needed to. "Mrs. Durand, what is the meaning of this?" he asked.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Agreste. I was just going to have her removed from the building, but she slipped past me." the secretary answered.

"That's not what I meant."

She gave him a very confused look.  "Sir?"

"That girl is Adrien's girlfriend. She is welcome to be here and shouldn't be treated like a petty troublemaker," he said, crossing his arms.

He watched as the color drained from her face. "I'm sorry, Mr. Agreste. I didn't know, and she wasn't on your schedule..."

"Well be sure to remember next time. And let her go. Like I said, she's welcome to be here," he answered.

Mrs. Durand let go of Marinette's arm and quickly excused herself, quite flustered by the situation. The door shut and silence fell over them. What was he supposed to say to the girl who had been his enemy for over a year? What was she going to say to him?

He decided to remain guarded as he spoke. "It's rather bold to come here unannounced. Thank you for not using the window."

Marinette blinked. She didn't think about using the window. That probably would of have been easier, but then again it was rude..

"Hello, Marinette," Fu spoke up and waved at her. You could tell he was enjoying all of this.

Marinette just waved back. She didn't noticed him earlier. She looked back at Mr. Agreste. "I'm sorry about all of this, but I really need to talk to you. Do you still want to make your wish?"

Gabriel stared at her. How much about his wish did she know? Surely, she wasn't going on a hunch that his wish was harmless... Did they just figure out his identity from clues or did Adrien hear something...?  "Of course I still want to make my wish. I will always want to make that wish. But it's out of the question now," he answered, his eyes narrowing before he could stop them. What was her game?

Marinette just stared at him. He was being quite defensive, but she didn't blame him. They have been enemies for almost two years. She didn't let his behavior intimidate her. One by one Marinette took off the earrings and placed them on the coffee table. "I am willing to let you have your wish." She paused. "Adrien, doesn't feel the same." she paused again. "I just want someone to make that wish.."

Gabriel's eye widened, focusing on the earrings as she put them on the table. All this time, and finally had half of what he needed. But her words stabbed into him. Adrien was upset enough about everything that he would rather keep the ring from Gabriel's hands than have his mother back. Not that Gabriel should be surprised after all the fighting, Chat Blanc, and everything else he'd done to wrong him.

"I appreciate the thought, but nothing will happen without Adrien's cooperation..."

Speaking of Adrien, his son suddenly burst into the room, shutting the door behind him and marching right up to Marinette. He didn't even acknowledge Gabriel and probably didn't even realize Fu was there (he was so easy to miss with his small stature).

"We're not going through with this plan," Adrien insisted.

"Yes we are!" Marinette said trying to keep her cool. She was tired of this fight. "Someone is going to make this wish. I don't care who anymore. It needs to be done."

Fu cleared his throat to make his presence known. "Gabriel has to make this wish." All eyes were on him. "He has the strongest feelings." he gave a small smile.

Adrien stared at Fu as he spoke.  He remembered helping this man up on the first day of the school year before being dragged back home.  So, that one deed had been enough for Fu to decide that he would make a good Chat Noir?  

"This is stupid, Adrien.  Just listen to Marinette like usual.  It's not going to be the end of the world if you hand over the ring for a couple hours at most and let this wish be granted.  You'll even benefit from it."

Adrien bit his lip and looked at Plagg.  At some point the kwami had floated from his pocket to hover at his side.  So, Plagg was on board with this too?

"I don't..." He began.  He couldn't help but finally glance at his father.  Gabriel was quietly watching the exchange, looking deep in thought.  The kwami floating next to him was such a strange sight...

His father blinked when he realized Adrien was staring, and opened his mouth to say something, but he quickly looked away, back to Fu and Marinette.  He was outnumbered by all of them.  He gave Marinette a pleading look, but gave up when she didn't budge.

"Fine," he muttered in defeat.  He removed the ring from his hand and held it out to Marinette.  He refused to give it directly to his father.

Marinette gladly took the ring from Adrien. She placed it down next to the earrings. She walked back over to Adrien and grabbed his good hand.

"Alright," said Fu. "We can do it here or at my place. You pick Gabriel. My place might be a better idea."

Gabriel carefully grabbed the miraculouses from the coffee table and briefly stared at them.  Finally, he could get what he wanted.  "Your house would be better.  I would rather not have one of my employees walk in on this," he said, motioning to the kwamis. There had already been a few close calls.

He pocketed the ring and earrings and stood, walking to his desk to shut down his computer and make sure everything was taken care of.  He would let his secretary know he was leaving on the way out.

They exited the building rather quickly and went to Mr. Agreste's car. Marinette was shocked that he drove himself to work seeing how Adrien was driven everywhere. Fu took the passenger seat so he could give Mr. Agreste directions while Adrien and Marinette sat in the back seat. Marinette held Adrien's hand the whole way.

Fu lived in apartment above his measage therapy buisness. Mr. Agreste parked in front of it and they went upstairs to his apartment. He had Marinette and Adrien wait in the living room while he took Mr. Agreste and the kwamis in the backroom.

"It's better you two stay here," Fu said before leaving the teenagers alone.

Marinette looked over at Adrien and just hugged him. "I'm sorry about all of this. I just...I feel like this is right thing to do..."
