"Oh I will!" Iris said with a smile. "After all he owes me for, taking everything out of the attic for his evil lair." She then turned around and headed toward the door. "Come Adrien and oh leave the door open!"

Iris walked down the stairs with Adrien who was right behind her. They walked down the hallway and stopped at Gabriel's designing room. Iris took a guess that he was in here. She opened the door and found him working on outfit for one of his clients. A butterfly flew past them and landed on Gabriel's shoulder.

"Hello, Gabe," said Iris.

Gabriel looked up in confusion when the butterfly landed on his shoulder and almost jumped when he heard Iris's voice. "Hello, Iris, Adrien," he answered still confused by the butterfly's presence. He looked at his shoulder for a moment, the butterfly giving a few flaps before he nodded. "You found the butterflies in the attic?"

Adrien nodded. "We were looking for Christmas decorations."

Iris folded her arms. "Yeah were looking for them." She then reached out her hand and a different butterfly landed in it. "Then we discovered your lair and all of our stuff was missing, Gabriel."

"Oh. Right. I needed a place close to home that Adrien wouldn't notice so I moved everything in the attic into one of them empty room," he said with a shrug. "They should still be in there. The cleaning staff was instructed not to throw anything out back when I hired them." His tone was rather conversational, as if having to move things out of the attic for a secret lair was normal. Then again, it kind of was with this family.

He looked at the butterflies again, tapping his finger on his knee. "So, why are the butterflies out?"

Iris put her hands on her hips. "Because I let them out. In fact I told them they should stay out. They seem quite happy about that." The butterflies that were in the room flap their wings in excitement.

Lycca popped out of Gabriel's nearby desk, a grin on his face. "Yes! That's wonderful! They've been cooped up for so long," he said before giving Gabriel a pleading look.

Gabriel bit his lip. He didn't really want the butterflies all over the house. It was risky. "You shouldn't be telling my butterflies what they can or can't do. I don't really want them loose all the time. What if Nathalie came over to give me some papers and she saw them? They'd give away my identity."

"We can just trained them to hide," Iris said and then glanced at their son. "Right, Adrien?" She gave him encouraging smile. There was no way Gabirel could say no to both of them.

Adrien nodded with a grin. "They seem willing to listen. They're probably way more obedient than a certain cat kwami we all know," he said with a teasing jab at Plagg. The kwami let out a hmph from in Adrien's pocket but didn't come out to protest. He was mad at the cheese rations Adrien was trying (with mixed success) to enforce after the cheesecake incident.

Gabriel tried not to smirk at his son's comment. It was quite true the butterflies would do whatever he commanded, including staying hidden if there were guests, but he was still a little worried. After a moment, he sighed knowing he didn't have a good argument. "I suppose we could try it."

Iris smiled. "Great!" The butterflies rejoiced and started to dance around.

She walked over to Gabriel. "Well time to take a break from work and help us decorate. It's Saturday after all! You work too hard sometimes."

Gabriel considered this for a moment. The lack of beast attacks had been helpful in letting him catch up on all the work he'd missed. With the work he'd been doing, he was about a week behind schedule as opposed to the month or so before. A small break wouldn't hurt, and his progress with Adrien had been promising so far... He nodded and stood, putting his needle away, "You're probably right."

Adrien stared at his father, surprised for a moment. His father's willingness was so much higher when his mother asked his father to do something. Had Adrien asked his father to decorate the Christmas tree with him before his mother's return, his father would have said he was too busy and left the decorating to him and Nathalie. It was almost hurtful that he had tried so hard to help his father when his mother disappeared but now his father had changed so much in such a short period of time..

Iris beamed. She was happy that Gabriel actually took her advice. The three of them then left the room and Gabriel showed them the storage room. The walked into the room and Iris turned on the lights. There were boxes everywhere. She started to walk around the room searching for the Christmas boxes.

She eventually found them. They were located by the Christmas tree. As she opened a box an idea hit her. It would be nice if they got a live tree. If they did it would mean they would have to wait until it got closer to Christmas. So tonight they could put up the other decorations. Iris glanced back at the boys. Adrien would mostly like be for a live tree. Gabriel on the other hand...

Iris just smiled and looked cute. "Boys, don't you think it would be neat if we got a real tree this year?"

Light shone in Adrien's eyes. The idea of a real Christmas tree had always sounded awesome to him. He opened his mouth to answer but paused. Of course his father was unlikely to agree. He glanced at his father, waiting to see what he would say. There was no way he would let them outvote him on everything, right? There had to be some kind of line his father wouldn't cross just because of his mother's whims...

Gabriel stared at both of them, his eyes narrowed in disgust at the thought of bringing a real tree into his house. "We don't need a real tree. This fake one does perfectly fine. Plus, there's no chance of bringing some random animal into the house."

Adrien bit his lip. Yep. There was his father's typical disdain for all things fun. Fake tree it was.

"Pfft," Iris said and waved her hand. "Aren't we a Mr. Scrooge?" She turned her attention back to the boxes. Iris opened up one up and started to look through it. "You know we can check the tree before we buy it. Besides it's not like we're going to into a middle of a forest and chop one down."

Gabriel crossed his arms defiantly, not ready to give up yet. "Real trees die and drop tons of needles everywhere. And you have to water them. And they're extremely flammable. We don't need a real tree when we have this nice fake one. It's a wast of money."

Iris let out a sigh. "But it live trees bring a nice smell into the house." She glanced over at the boys. "And I'll take care of it and make sure needles don't get everywhere. They invented vacuum cleaners for a reason."
