| Hello Everyone and welcome to Anime Sampler Night! So, what is Anime Sampler Night?Once a week, I will host a stream for one random anime. We will watch up to four episodes of this anime, and I can make an event discussion thread if we decide we want to discuss the series afterward. The point is to test series you may never think of watching. For this reason, the series I choose will primarily be series I have never seen. No judging though. I haven't been able to watch a lot of series since the mid-2000s. College was such a time sapper. XD Anyway... What we will be watching:
- Old, obscure series that we may or may not have heard about
- New, fresh series that may not have garnered as much attention as others in the current season
- Series from almost any genre (I'll try not to be biased in my selection)
- At least one older or less watched magical girl series a month (since that's why we're all here XD)
- Member suggestions that fall within these guidelines
What we not be watching:
- Long, multi-season anime that everyone has heard of (ex: Naruto, Bleach, Sword Art Online, etc)
- Hentai
- Horror (Sorry, I can't do horror series... I'm a wimp)
Member suggestions can be submitted to me here using this form:Series Name: Genre: Brief Summary: Why would this make a good anime sampler: Where can I find it: Day and time: Thursdays at 8pm Eastern Time (Please use the World Clock and reference New York to compare time zones) This Week's Anime: Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun - Suggested by Mew Amihttp://www.livestream.com/miaschannel1Member Suggestion List:Mew Ami:Series Name: Wish Upon PleiadesGenre: magical girl Brief Summary: Originally a collaboration project between Japanese car manufacturer Subaru and animation studio Gainax of Evangelion fame, Wish Upon the Pleiades, known in Japan as Houkago no Pleiades, features a cast of magical girls who are helping an alien to recover fragments so that it can return home to the PleiadesWhy would this make a good anime sampler: it's magical! I don't know! The trailer looked intersting and the whole teaming up with a car company. Where can I find it: Crunchyroll

| Woot~
I've watched this series, but it's such a good series and it needs more attention!
Series Name: Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun Genre: shojo? romance/comedy Brief Summary: Chiyo Sakura, a high school girl who fell in love with the unrefined boy schoolmate Umetaro Nozaki, decides to be courageous one day and asks him out. Her feelings weren't conveyed properly, and before she knew it she ends up helping a particular job of his as an assistant... The series is a shojo manga boy comedy which centers around Nozaki, a high school boy that is a popular shojo manga artist, and has a story woven by very individualistic characters Why would this make a good anime sampler: It's a really light hearted show and it's easy to binge watch. The show never gets stale. Where can I find it: Crunchyroll. It's 12 episodes long. |

Nope. You're awesome. I would bail so fast the moment something like Mirai Nikki or Deadman Wonderland came on. I didn't know you folks actually streamed stuff. I was saying a couple years ago that we should totally do a Christmas themed event with that, watching Christmas episodes of various MG shows. That'd be awesome. |

| We've tried streaming in the past, but no one showed up. We're hoping this program will peak people's interest. |

| Updated with the date and time. We're going to go with Ami's suggestion for the first week to give me more time to gather a list of series.
Please give feedback on the day and time so I know if it works for enough people. |

| I've watched Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, and greatly enjoyed it. The DVD extras are really funny and I can't wait to actually buy them. Unfourtunately I will be busy most Thursdays and cannot join in. Which doth suck greatly. |

Better not go down that lane. Can we still give options for streaming or should we wait for the next time? |

I can try to move it to Monday or Saturday in the future if that would work. Mondays would make it a half hour later for the next 7 weeks because I have puppy class to attend with my little psycho chew monster. Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays are pretty much guaranteed that I'll be alone at night, so they're most convenient. - Beat wrote:

Can we still give options for streaming or should we wait for the next time? Glad I'm not the only one that can't do excessive gore. I think the most gore I've gotten through in a series of any genre was Baccano, and it had the characters and interesting plot setup to keep me watching. Straight gore and horror just doesn't work for me, though. My college anime club degenerated into mostly gore and horror and I just stopped going. It was too bad. It gave me something to do on Fridays while most people were partying. Anyway, suggestions are ongoing. I'll be keeping a list in the first post. I might even open up voting if we get a backlog of suggestions. |

| Saturday nights would work better for me, but I don't want to step on any toes if more people prefer the Thursday option. |

| I think our best bet is to alternate that way everyone has a chance to come. But that's up to Mai! |
