| One of my dream jobs, or at least something that sounds neat if it existed would be like a real life magical girl cafe/library
I dunno how lucrative it would be or if there's even a demand of one outside of me and maybe a few others around the country
But like, imagine being in middle school and needing a place to hang out and you like magical girl anime. So you go down to the Magical Girl Cafe, kick back and watch the latest episode of Precure or pop in an old series. Read some manga in a quiet space, play some games. and maybe eat some cute food in the cafe area. If something like that existed I think that'd be really fun.
Even as a general "Anime Club" store/cafe where people could come and go and meet people while they enjoy the stuff they like. like there's anime conventions as a safe space to do anything relating to anime, but those are more like a big expensive parties - but I'm more of a daytime quiet person, so anime conventions and crowds just don't appeal to me anymore like they did.
Just as sort of "What if?" idea, any suggestions to how this could work or what you would like to see |

| I've been to a few cons over the years. One of the ones I went to had a place where you can just sit and read manga. They people in charge had a huge selection to chose from. You couldn't buy them of course.
People open up small book cafes. Where they sell books and coffee so something like this doesn't seem far fetch. I would make it a nerd cafe though because not everyone is into magical girls. So I would sell manga, anime, comics, trading cards, ect. Basically a comic book store that sells food and drinks. You can totally do theme days and have movie nights.

| It was at Ohayocon. They called it manga library? I'm sure there are other cons who do that as well.

| Well, to me the best approach is to have an all general anime, manga and comic store since it's better to get more customers, since unlike Japan we don't have that much of a demand for it. Also, like you say today's fandom...well it's not like before. Anyhow, let me put my thoughts
-Approach the customers with treats like "Sailor Moon" cheesecake(They have something like that in Japan, yeah) and with that make them feel in a comsfortable envinronment.
-Have manga of all types, you can find it in bundles on online stores so anyone can read.
-You could have hostesses to discuss the anime and such BUUT, careful with a lot of jerks in the fandom you know how it gets.
-Have merchandise that is affordable and sells, I don't mean figurines but keychains and things people complain having a hard time getting.
-Maybe announce that you give away prices, maybe rare pokeymon for I dunno consuming more than $60 dollars? I used pkmn since its portable.
That's all for now. Good luck in any endeavor. |
