| I think this show's famous enough that I don't need to explain what it's about. I remember finding it kinda boring when I first started watching. It wasn't until book 2, and the introduction of the most awesome female character in western animation that I really got into the series.
It's really depressing that Nickelodeon seems to resent this series so much, considering it's probably the best thing to come out of their network in over a decade.
And that's probably why they resent it, because an adult viewer is saying this. Nickelodeon has a few guidelines with shows...
1 ) They prefer their shows to cater mostly to the tween demographic and little kids. So shows like Avatar and Invader Zim, that bring in a large number of older viewers tend to be disliked by the network.
2 ) They prefer their shows to be random single-episode nonsense that can be aired in any order. Avatar has a continuous plot that spans the entire series, and it can be a little difficult to follow what's going on if you haven't been watching from the beginning.
3 ) Nickelodeon does not like shows to have definite endings. They like to have a show up in the air at all times, able to throw in a new season whenever's convenient. VERY RARELY will they announce that a show is actually ending.
It was so depressing how much this show got the shaft.
We had to wait at least a year for half a season to air, and then when the second half of the final season came, they basically just crammed it into an entire week (with the final four-parter being in a single day). I haven't even seen the show air on TV since then.
Supposedly they have it on their Nicktoons channel, obvious money-grabbing ploy, but I'm not gonna pay extra money I don't have just to get a network that airs two good shows, and more Spongebob. |

| It's sad Nickelodeon don't seem to want to succeed just because their best series since the early 2000s doesn't fit their usual type of series. They're probably trying to kill Korra with the Friday night schedule and constant time changes even though they already paid for two (it was two right?) more seasons.
It really is strange. If I were a network executive, I'd be happy for such a popular show. |

| Yeah the nicktoons channel plays ATLA all the time. We get it on one TV because it's the only one that has the box. Everytime I see it on it's usually some episode from Book 2. XD
So I dont get why Nick doesnt play it on their main channel? Like when LOK Book 1 was about to air they had marathon on the nicktoon channel, but not on their main channel. Um, Nick?? Not everyone has access to that channel. A lot of kids will be confused as they watch LOK. |

| AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH I HAD NO IDEA SEASON 3 OF KORRA WAS STARTING ALREADY!
I just turned on my TV and switched to Nick on a sheer whim and it was seven minutes into the first episode of the new season. Super Lucky!
The first episode has just ended and I'm immediately reminded of why this is the only good show the network has right now.
So now there are new Airbenders. I can feel less guilty about the idea of airbending fan characters. |

| Yes, friend. Finish book 2 so you can move on to book 3. Book 3's already looking good.

| Yeah. I was distracted. XD
But it is looking pretty good. All the of the side characters so far are just as fun as the side characters in the original series. My assessment of book 3 has nothing to do with Zuko... XD |

| What episode are you on? I would say skip it or just watch the finale, but there are a few things that are important. |

| I don't remember. Last one I watched was when Korra and Mako had their stupid break up. |

| Ok. Watch Beginnings part 1 and 2. It's about the first avatar and probably the best two episodes in that book. The last 6 after that are all kind of important and are better than the first half of the season. So that's eight episodes... probably about where you stopped... I'm not very helpful. XD |

| Sorry. Everything after Beginnings is important. But trust me, it did get better after Beginnings. The studio that animated book 1 animated Beginnings and the rest of the series as well as book 3. I can't put my finger on why that made a difference for me, but it did. |
