Okay so we all know one of the major themes of the series is protecting the environment. I feel like this is the only magirl girl series that uses that as theme (correct me if I'm wrong). I like that theme and I think it's a good message to kids that we need to take a better care of our planet. Don't worry I'm not a tree hugger.

However, I do see in a flaw in this theme. The series doesn't really talk about it much. I guess that's okay because if they mentioned it a lot it would come off preachy. But you can still talk about protecting the planet without it seeming preachy. Now, I haven't read the manga or seen the anime in awhile, but if I remember it correctly in the beginning of the anime they talked about it often, but after season one's finale they don't bring it up much. I could bring wrong though. As for the manga I have no idea. I really need to reread it.

So what do guys think? Did they not talk about the environmental theme enough, a lot, or just enough?

I think it's done on a pretty good level. The serious does not once really teach anything, it states facts mostly.
I like that and I don't feel as if the subject has been dropped towards the end.

The anime end even briefly addressed the problem a victory of nature would cause to modern societies (see: Ichigo's dad trying to get to work).

Overall it was beautifully done, especially with the two sides aspect they gave the aliens: Victims of environmental changes themselves they fasten the ones humans caused, while actually being disgusted by them.

And Deep Blue in himself, mostly showing through Masaya, is the image of wanting the nature to stay unharmed, in extremist ways.

It's interesting how TMM portrays many sides to the subject without judging too much.

I guess so, but I still feel like it could have been addressed more. :/ It's hard for me to explain.
