| God yes I would love it if they released the series again. They did it in Australia a year or two ago, but those DVDs won't play on a conventional American DVD Player. |

| If they come out with a box set of the series I hope it's in DVD as well. I share blu-ray with my family and you have to fight it to get it to work. >.< We need to go get a new one, but my mom went with a normal DVD player for Christmas instead. We have two old ones in the house. The first one was from when DVDs came out and the other is a VHS/DVD player. |

| I can't wait for this! I already own the movie, but it'll be fun to have the bluray. Plus, as many people as possible need to buy this so someone realizes a rerelease is an awesome idea. I own the entire series, but I'd like a nice boxset to take up less space. |

I can't speak for what it's like over there but every DVD player I've ever owned (Game consoles aside which are all region locked) have been able to play American DVDs. That includes the cheap ones and portable players. Speaking of Australia, Madman announced they had the licensing rights to the first movie some time last year but they haven't said anything about it since. So I suppose we'll just get the same thing as the US as per usual. At least this means we get a Blu-ray release. And even when they do have an exclusive release Madman, Siren and Hanabee rarely go out of their way to to translate the anime themselves anyway. Although the video quality of the CCS DVDs is supposedly a great deal better the American spelling and grammar leads me to think they just took the subtitles from Geneon's release. |

| Well the Australian classification board recently added a rating for the movie in their database getting a PG for 'Mild Themes and Animated Violence' (To put it into context the uncut DVDs for the show were rated G for 'Very Mild Animated Violence'). I don't know about the US, but something like this likely means an Australian release is imminent. Although Madman have updated their releases to May so it'll be June at the earliest. |

| Mildly. Not any more than most western kid's shows. I still don't recall many fist fights in the show |

| Note: This post references events in the movie but should not spoil anything if there was anyone reading who hasn't seen the movie.
It might be because the sorceress in the movie actually tries to kill Sakura and somewhat succeeds in hurting her. She had those cloths/bandages (whatever they were) that she used to physically attack Sakura in her dreams, translating to at least one injury in real life. This enemy was actually a decent threat.
The cards are powerful, but they're not as threatening. They attack Sakura and try to stop her from sealing them, but they never get more than a few hits in if that. They're usually sealed with minimal fighting since the series is more interested in love and friendship over action sequences. Some cards were more dangerous than others, but I can't remember an episode where any of them seemed to be on a similar level to the sorceress in terms of power or threat (probably forgetting something...).
On another note, I read an interview with 4Kids a long while ago where they talked about how the FCC did not allow human on human violence (punching, guns, etc.) in cartoons that are broadcast on local TV (or something along those lines; can't remember). They mentioned lasers got off easier but I don't remember... Anyway, if Australia were to use a similar criteria for ratings, I could see it being PG even though I would personally consider it a G film. That's all based on assumption, though. |

| I would consider that as mild violence though. I mean look at some Disney films! They are may more violent, but are rated G! lol |

| Not denying that. Disney seems to get a lot of stuff past a G rating. Although, I doubt they'd get some things in older movies (ex: Jasmine seducing Jafar to help Aladdin) past it in newer movies.
What I mean is, in the context of CCS, the first movie can be considered more violent the the rest of the series on those grounds. I would still consider it G. No one dies or is badly wounded, but some countries have different standards and the ratings systems change with the generation. I'm interested to see what rating it gets in the US. |
