For all those people who clamored for a Magical Girl character who is an actual adult, JC. Staff delivers.
Of course just looking at the protagonist in her skimpy outfit on the page there you can tell this is gonna be a seinen affair. Her costume is actually the same one from when she was a teenager, and doesn't magically grow to fit her now adult body.
I expected this to be a gross fanservice-fest and the first episode certainly delivered.
But after that I was actually really impressed with this show. The plot is actually really interesting and emotional, and in the long-run it actually manages to convey the kind of spirit I expect from a Magical Girl show.
It's some parts comedy, some parts romantic drama, and has a grand finale that makes every moment I was bored (there was some yea) worth it.
The only faults I can give it are...
1 ) The aforementioned fanservice, which, aside from Ureshiko's costume, disappear after the first episode.
2 ) J.C. Staff still doesn't know the correct volume to put the BGM, so it's absurdly loud at times.
3 ) I didn't care much for Ureshiko herself, she's kind of a generic ditzy "araaaaa" woman, the ideal Japanese housewife apparently. I ended up liking the rival Magical Girl a lot more.
