| I started this season today and I'm optimistic. I usually do enjoy the first few episodes of a Precure season only to be disappointed later, so I'm gonna withhold from getting too excited right now. All I will say though is that the initial set-up is okay. In particular I really like these two, Rin (left) and Nozomi (right). I really like how Rin is the friend that is constantly looking out for Nozomi and all of her many screw-ups, like a nagging parent at the same time as a best friend. There's a bit of (mostly implied) romance between Nozomi and the mascot, Coco, (who can shift into human form) but it's not as bad as people made it out to be. Of course I'm only on the first two episodes, but we'll see. |

| I gave this series a try and got up to episode 12. Coco's voice was driving me nuts. |

| XD I'm NOT watching this series with headphones.
I've already become kind of acquainted with his voice thanks to the All-Stars movies, so I should be able to finish the series. Besides, I can always turn the volume down when he's talking. |

| Never thought about doing that. I dont mind him in his human form. Why must Japanese people give cute looking things high pitch voices!? |

| Six episodes in the main cast has been assembled. Hopefully things will get more interesting from here, because this show is having a hard time keeping my attention. |

| I dunno. Probably. This is the first Precure series where the cast was not formed since episode 1 (Max Heart is a sequel, almost like a second season, so I'm not counting it) and the first one to have characters that could fight and change on their own (Shiny Luminous only can freeze enemies with her Heartiel Action and power up the Precures). It's maybe the one that settled the road for the following ones, yet probably the one with the least surprises. It survived and got another season as Precure 5 Go Go. |

| Well I'm on episode 25 and I can say that this has gotten more interesting, but that might only be because the main Cures are so likable. It feels like this season doesn't really have a theme or direction. It lacks the flare of more modern Precure seasons like Heartcatch and Suite. It just feels very.... typical. |

| That's because they decided to focus on characters rather than themes in that season, which is why it got a sequel. In fact, the clasic Precures (Futari wa - Fresh) were more personality driven than the modern Precures, which focus on a certain theme. |

| It feels weird seeing a Precure ending theme that's actually something besides the characters in Cure form dancing. I like it it. But the kids being able to dance to the ending themes is more important than my personal preferences. |

| Then keep watching Precure 5. The series is simple and it actually focuses more on characters than other kinds of gimmicks. In fact, the series uses little to none cel-shaded CGI (you know, they kind of animation from Transformers Energon), unlike the lots used on later series. |

| So I didn't really want to say what I thought of Yes Precure 5 once I finished it (take that as a sign that It wasn't in my favor) but the movie is a huge step above the show. Very powerful and emotional. With character development!
This one might be my favorite besides the movie of my other least favorite season, Smile Precure. |

| I'm about 19 episodes into Yes! Precure 5 now, but I went ahead and watched the movie this afternoon after hearing all this praise for it.
It was pretty good! All the princess land stuff I liked at the beginning and the Dark Precure were pretty neat adversaries. Kinda thought the fight was a little dragged on. Like, yeah I know it was emotional and well animated, but it was like 20 minutes of solid fighting and emotional yelling. I do appreciate the film putting in some laughs at the big boss fight tho. I hadn't seen Milk before this, I think she has a bad reputation among the fandom? but I really liked her in this, I thought she was pretty cute.
while I'm on the subject - Coco has to be the most annoying sounding mascot in this franchise. Every time he talks (as a mascot, not the hot teacher thing) I (a) - cannot take him seriously and (b) - want to protect my ears from bleeding. |

| I enjoyed Yes Precure 5, but it's probably the weakest of the seasons I have a positive opinion on... though Nozomi and Komachi are both among my favorite cures. |

| I finished it a few weeks ago and I'm definitely put off from watching GoGo. By episode 30 I stopped caring even for the character interactions. It was just so boring and felt like it wasn't going in any particular direction. And I love how the villains aren't really even memorable. The main characters don't even know the names of most of them, they just scream "Nightmare!" every time they show up.
Milk, the mascot critter who debuts around episode 21, made the show especially irksome to watch. I wanted to step on her.
And if people complain that GoGo is worse because filler... what do you call this? |
