So something I have been going back and forth about for some time. Should big western magical girl shows have their own boards? Like Ladybug, Winx Club, ect. 

Now I am open to Steven Universe if someone tells me why it's consider a magical girl show.

I think it would be nice for the western magical girl shows to get their own board. It keeps things organized.

I'm not qualified to nominate Steven Universe as a magical girl show since I've only seen 5 episodes so far (and haven't gotten to any meaningful plot yet), so I won't embarrass myself by trying. I'm sure the argument can be made the crystal gems are magical girls, and Steven is learning and growing into his powers, so... I don't know. Someone else should probably elaborate with a real argument. XD

I think a Western Magical Girl board is a good idea! There are lots of new magical girl series from the west, like Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Bee and Puppycat, Ladybug, Lolirock, etc... It seems to be a growing genre, so we should have a board for it!

Well, with Steven being a male he is a magical boy(as far as I am aware the gems are genderless). That said the show does seem to fall in the magical warrior subgenre which would still fall under the larger scope of the magical girl genre. 

So Steven Universe would easily fall under the Western Magical Girl label as a variant example of a magical warrior. Which makes me wonder if there have ever been male versions of the cute witch. 

Then I guess I'll give Steven its own board. I feel like the genre is so different these days.

Yes please! It would be nice to see all Western magical girl series in one place. The genre has been existing since the 1980s in the West (Jem, She-Ra, Rainbow Brite, etc.)

I think having a Western Magical Girl Fourm is a very good idea and since Western Magical Girl cartoons and comic books/graphic novels are becoming very popular, then it's best for Western Magical Girls to have their own Forum. So that way if anyone wants to talk about their favorite Western Magical Girl series, then they will have a place to talk about it.

Yes. I'm planning to make one soon. The forum is going to get a bit of an update soon.
