And also Mamoru who is watching the scene unfold he says he feels like he gives his daughter at her wedding
And later when they are walking holding hands, Usagi is like "stop holding handssssss"
and Hotaru says "but you do that all the time with Mamoru"

this ship is real, they just make it super blunt for everyone to see in crystal.

Yeah, I always shipped Chibiusa and Hotaru for the reasons Hlove listed... But this new OP just makes it worse for me, haha. I'm not going to lie, I gasped out loud when I saw it. Love those two so much.

So, the third season of Crystal is airing now, and it has been since the beginning of April. It's now a weekly show, instead of the twice a month thing it used to have going on, so there are a few episodes out already.

I have yet to watch it myself, but from what I've seen on Tumblr, it's doing a LOT better than the first two seasons did! The art style is gorgeous (so far, anyway), and apparently the Inners have been given personalities more closely resembling their 90's counterparts. It's no longer following the manga panel for panel, all of the henshins have been redone in 2D, and there are references to the 90's anime all over the place! Seeing how much it's improved really makes me wanna catch up with the show, haha. Or maybe I'll just start with the new one... It's not like I don't already know what happens. We'll see.

I haven't watched it either, but the blogs I follow post a ton of stuff from it. I'm glad it's pacing and the style are so much better. Sadly I won't be watching it. Season one (I'm sorry Toei, but Infinity is season two not three.) left a sour taste in my mouth and to be frank I don't like the manga.

I'm watching and enjoying Crystal as much as I have been enjoying it from the start.

as for the fandom reaction...
it is the worst hypocrisy I have ever seen
crystal 1 and 2 have been ripped apart frame by frame, even perfectly fine sequences had been ridiculed for frames that are not visible if you don't freeze the video because they appear for 2 milliseconds, and now somehow crystal 3 does everything right and it's perfect, and if anyone dares to say ANYTHING that doesn't glorify it is instantly a looser and should suck it up and don't watch...

I have watched every episode from 1 to 30 and I see the same animation all through it, the only change in 3 is that they simplified the art style, and that balanced the whole thing better.

I see no difference in quality with this:

the only difference is the art style.

plot wise, and character development, there is still no difference, just because they gather in Crown, and make a comment or two doesn't give them more personality, it just adds to what we were given in the previous 2 arcs. Also this arc in the manga is one of the best in the series, so of course the characters seem better, the story is written better in this arc and those that follow.

To be fair just judging by the gifs the animation is much smoothed in season three. The characters move much better. 

What do you expect? It's the Sailor Moon fandom.

As for the animation, yes it might seem that way, though personally I don't see much difference.
But I think everything in crystal 1 & 2 was intentional(namely the loooonnng close ups in frames) to make it look more vintage because it's an old story anyway. SMC3 is now super modern and moe in comparison.

They were just cutting corners since it was online. XD

Is it bad that I liked all seasons? Don't get me wrong, I am aware of animation, pacing issues and stuff, but I can't help but love all the seasons.

I honestly loved the 1-2 art style better too.

No, it's not bad! Just because your opinion is different from someone else's doesn't mean it's bad! I wish I had liked the first two seasons, too, honestly.

someone on tumblr said that lipstick tainted the first two seasons. what on earth is that idea all about? it sounds very unintelligent...

supposedly "little tiny" girls wearing lipstick is somehow over sexualization or something like that
but hey Michiru having an obvious thigh gap (which traditionally is sexualization of a character) in eternal eternity video because that appeals to the cis-male gaze...is not even commented on at all ever.

here is the thing though
a cultural aspect
the girls in crystal I'm almost certain they don't wear lipstick but that's just their lips
and the reason is:
THEY ARE MIDDLE SCHOOL girls and highschool later on.
by that fact alone they are NOT allowed to wear any make up on (makeup as umbrella term that covers all beauty products such as lipstick, eyeliner, etc) because of school rules in Japan.

Though even if that is not true, I don't see the big deal.

well, me too. but I guess people want to be very fussy. some even said that Usagi was utterly heartless  and useless in season 1 and 2 of Crystal. But.... I don't see that.

I could see emotions, and Usagi was far from useless.
then again I'm used to certain manga where facial expressions are not exaggerated so I can see the emotions clearly.
