I know it's a work of fiction, and a kids show, but I couldn't help but be a bit bothered by the way Sakura resolves the conflict in this episode.

So her friends, some magical, some muggle are trapped in magical vortexes of water, and how does Sakura save them? By transforming the FIREY card and using it to boil and evaporating the water away.

And her friends come out just fine. They didn't get boiled alive or anything. It's a good thing this wasn't a deconstruction or that might have ended badly. > >

You also see this in LOK. Mako's used fire to cut off streams of water come at him. You can use the same logic. Attack parts of the water in quick succession so it doesn't boil all of it.

More blatantly in one of the more recent Book 3 episodes Bolin is dodging boiling lava rocks in a pool of water. He should have been a cooked lobster by the time he got out of there.

A lot of this depends on the size of the water pool and the heat of the fire.
