This seems to be the source everyone's throwing around when they claim it's confirmed that Saban will be dubbing Smile Precure under this peculiar name. It sure is the shiniest season so I'll give them that.
Assuming this is true I am cautiously optimistic, but certain that I personally won't like the dub as much since I've already seen the subbed version. And knowing Saban's work on Digimon they're sure to replace the soundtrack with some generic power rangers-esque thing. As long as they don't do this again...
It does make me curious why Smile in particular. I would have expected Heartcatch. I'm also a little concerned about the name, not because I don't like how it sounds, but because it's disconnected from the franchise it comes from. Of course dubbing this late a season is already a clue that the others aren't likely to appear.
Either way it'd be nice to get Precure exposed to Western kid audiences. I hope they (if this is even real) would do it justice.

Honestly, I'm so desperate to see Precure dubbed that I wouldn't even mind a 4kids style hack job.
But personally I think dubbed kid's anime has come a long way since the 90s. The recent Doraemon dub cut out a few things and changed a few names but for the most part it was surprisingly faithful to the tone of the original. And its got some really good voice actors to boot.

I think the name is a bit silly -- it sounds very stereotypically girly, in a bad way -- but I'm actually completely okay with this. We desperately need more shoujo anime dubs in America -- all we ever seem to get is shounen, and I honestly really hate that. I really hope this works out!

You know what, I take that back. Glitter Force is not girly in a bad way. It's taking something stereotypically girly and making it powerful -- that's actually pretty cool. I'm not mad about the name change anyway because the name "Pretty Cure" doesn't make much sense in English anyway.
And, according to what I read on Tumblr... They almost went with the incredibly racist name "Gangnam Girls", so it could be a lot worse.
While I have no real issues with this whole thing seeing as I've already watched all of Smile, I feel like I wouldn't want to buy the DVDs because I'd never watch them.
My history with Digimon's dub leaves me skeptical.
-It took them until 2012 to release the first season in an actual DVD box set. -No subs, and for good reason, they make so many changes that Netflix had to release the subbed version as a separate entry. -Terrible one-liners and brothers and kittens that never existed.
They'll probably change the names of the characters too.

Well the difference with Digimon is that Saban was bought by Disney around the Tamers era - Frontier Era. Disney then sat on the Digimon rights for awhile, pooped out Data Squad, sat on it some more then Saban finally got free and went back to to dealing with Power Rangers (and making Xros Wars for Nickelodeon)
so the DVD thing is more of a battle with Disney's legal red tape more than anything.
They have been dealing with releasing Super Sentai on DVD now too, so I think they're a lot more aware of collectors looking to own the original release on DVD. So if Glitter Force is enough of a success who knows. --- I know a lot of people are complaining about the name, but really, there's still time to change it - they haven't even announced a broadcaster yet and these pages people are using as sources are advertisements to investors.
If a big investor told them "I'm in, but can you change the name?" they probably would. It's not that hard to whip up another logo.
I remember when Tokyo Mew Mew got licensed, I think the original name 4kids wanted was "Hollywood Mew Mew" before changing it. edit: It was Hollywood Mew Mew...wow this article...
Plus this was DIC's Sailor Moons ad to investors
the DiC dub was bad, but it's not as bad as the names and acting in this. yeesh.
The point is, until we see an ad on our favorite cartoon channels for it, I think everyone's blowing things out of control.

Ah Hollywood Mew Mew. When you think about it Tokyo Mew Mew sounds just as silly. XD
Even though I'm not a huge Precure fan I am happy to see one of its seasons being dub. I wonder if Nick will pick it up seeing how they picked up Ladybug. As for Glitter Force yeah that's super cheesy. It sounds like an old 80s cartoon. They'll probably change the name. I wonder about the Cure names. Cure Happy, Cure Sunny, ect. Will they change those? Cure really doesn't make sense in English. Then again 4kids did use Mew in their dub even though it sounded stupid. XD

Sounds like a Fancy attack from that robots show, Medabots...
Anyway, the dub, CAN be refreshing, however there are dubs that I wouldn't listen to even if payed, also let's see what they do to the names...Li Showron, anyone remember?
Well at least, another one for the list, although people are going to call it: "Sailor moon ripoff" probably.

Well, guess I need to renew my Netflix membership. I never got around to watching all of Archer anyway. December 18 isn't too far when you think about it. I was expecting we'd have to wait until next year before we got a taste.
Marchenland has been changed to Jubiland so were obviously in store for a few changes but Candy is still Candy. I suppose there really isn't any reason to change her name.

Netflix huh? I was kinda hoping it would air on TV, but whatever, times are changing.
I don't know how many kids watch Netflix, but I worry about it finding a strong enough audience thanks to that.
Especially since a lot of anime don't even show up in the netflix listings unless you're specifically searching the titles.

It does on the Wii. It also has a kid section. I'm sure it will be on there.

My tiny cousins watch netflix all the time (2 have their own tablets too). also i only use my family's netflix account to watch western kids cartoons/movies anyway and the there's surprising amount of original girl's cartoon content on there (Ever After High, Lego Elves & Lego Best Friends, Barbie Life in the Dream House, etc.)
so I think Glitter Force will have no problem at least catching someone's eye

I've only ever seen an anime section on the tablet. Never on the Wii or 2DS. And even then, it doesn't show the entire selection of anime. Madoka Magica and its three movies are on Netflix but they never appear, yet I've seen Attack on Titan listed, so I doubt content rating has anything to do with it.
