Ladybug put her hands on her hips. He was just messing around!? Didn't he say his family was overprotective? Wouldn't they notice their son was missing on Christmas Day? "Chat, our powers aren't for messing around! Have you ever read Spiderman? With great powers come great responsibility!" Ladybug waved her finger at him. Because of Alya she has become a causal comic book fan. Spiderman was her favorite since their powers somewhat alike.

Chat chuckled and waved a hand, dismissing the lecture.  "There's no problem with enjoying yourself every so often.  Peter Parker gets money by taking pictures of Spiderman that no one else could ever get and selling them to the newspaper."

He leaned against his staff as he spoke, relaxing despite her annoyance with him.  He had so many responsibilities in life that using his powers for fun every once in a while didn't seem like an issue.

"Besides, you can't tell me it doesn't feel great to run across rooftops and watch the world go by."  He said as he waved a hand towards the city.

'So he reads comics too,' Ladybug thought to herself as he spoke. Didn't surprise her. He seem dorky enough.

She relaxed as he kept on talking. "Yeah it does feel great." she paused for a moment. "Riding that dragon was pretty cool.. And fighting in that meca...was pretty awesome."

Chat nodded enthusiastically. ''We get to do so many things other people would only dream of. All while saving people. Paris isn't going to fault us for using our powers on our unofficial day off.  So, what do you say?  Want to join me?"

He didn't know if she needed to get home or not, and he would understand if she said no. But oh how he hoped she would say yes. Nothing would be better than spending time with her on Christmas.

Ladybug thought about it for a moment. She had a few hours to kill before dinner. Her parents probably haven't noticed her disappearance. Oh, what the hell. "Sure why not. What do you have in mind, my kitty?" She flicked his bell with her finger.

"Hmm..." Chat thought for a moment. He didn't have anything in mind considering he didn't realize Ladybug would be joining him before this point. He smiled. "How about a race?  First one to the Arc de Triomphe wins."

With that his smile turned into a mischievous grin as he suddenly ran off the side of the building and jumped, heading full speed toward the monument.

"Hey!" Ladybug shouted and ran off after him. She scaled across rooftops. His head start put him at advantage so Ladybug decided to take a shortcut. Chat got to cheat so why can't she? Ladybug got out her Yo-Yo and latched on to the a different building. She gilded over to it and changed her course. She then continued running across rooftops hoping she was in the lead.

It did not take long for Chat to realize Ladybug was not traveling the same route he was. He briefly wondered if she'd decided to go home but shook his head. She agreed to hang out with him. Why would she lie about that? She was definitely taking some other route in hopes of winning.

He saw her again as he got closer to the Arc. She was in the lead and bound to make it there before him. So he paused for a moment wondering if he should just get there and congratulate her for winning or... or he could have a little fun. He'd have to be quick since black did not lend itself to stealth when contrasted with the white snow blanketing the city, but it wouldn't be impossible for him to sneak up on her. 

He dropped for the rooftops to jump across the lower balconies and ledges of the buildings below until he came to the point there were no more buildings to use. Then he let himself fall to the street below and watched as he saw his partner making the final leap onto the Arc. Hopefully, she hadn't seen him. She wouldn't expect him to come from the ground when he could extend his staff as far as he needed.

He ran the rest of the way and grabbed some snow at the base of the monument. The snow was good packing snow making it easy to form a nice sized snowball. He smiled and quickly extended his staff so he was pushed up above the monument. He let the snowball fly as soon as he saw her and landed on the Arc just as it hit its target.

Ladybug grinned, when she ladned on the Arc. She felt proud of herself for beating Chat. Cheaters never win. Suddenly Ladybug felt a snowball hit the back of his head. She turned around and saw Chat standing there with a stupid ass grin on his face. "You think that's funny do you!?" She bent down and quickly made a snowball and threw it at him.

Chat smiled and hit the snowball with his staff. "Of course. It was hilari-ice," he said before putting his staff away and grabbing another snowball. The ambush and using the staff were both cheating in this battle. Time to fight fair. He moved to the left and threw the snowball.

The snowball fight commence. They were both evenly match so it went for quite sometime. It ended when they both hit each other in the face. They fell back on the Arc and started to laugh. Ladybug stared up at the sky and noticed it was starting to snow again. She wondered how late it was. Dinner was probably almost ready. But she didn't want to go. She was having too much fun.

"I probably should go," she sighed. "Dinner is almost ready." She sat up and looked at him. Without knowing it she was giving him a sad look.

Chat frowned as Ladybug gave him a sad look. He wanted her to stay. This was the first time he had someone to spend Christmas with in forever, but he'd known from the start she would have to go home sooner or later. There was a very slim chance his father would notice his absence, but Ladybug's family would notice hers.

"Oh. What kind of dinner does your family have on Christmas?" he asked. He didn't know why the thought crossed his mind. Probably an attempt to keep her longer.  Or maybe to compare her family dinner with his lonely one...

"My father makes a ham dinner," she replied. "He's a good cook." Ladybug just grinned. She was thinking of the dessert he would be making for tonight. "What does your family do?" She then remember his parents were over protective. "..Shouldn't you be going? Won't your parents notice you're gone?"

Chat smiled. He loved to see her happy.  He could just imagine her in her civilian form sitting at the dinner table with her parents and enjoying the dinner. He wondered if she had any siblings to spend time with or if it was just her and her parents.

He bit his lip when she asked about his family situation. He should have known asking her about her family would lead to questions about his. "Well, the cooks are off on Christmas so they make dinner the night before and leave very detailed instructions to heat it up properly. We usually just heat it up whenever we're hungry, so some years we end up eating separately."

He glossed over the fact his mother was not in the picture. She knew he was rich. There were not many rich boys with a single parent in Paris, so it seemed better to let her think he had both parents.  

He shrugged at her second question, not sure how to respond. Should he tell the truth or try to hide it? "Well.. My parents are used to our employees taking care of my schedule. They won't even think to check even though everyone is off for the day. But I probably should get back, just in case."

Ladybug just stared at him in confusion. She felt like he was describing two different type of parents. Was it was possible to be overprotective, but practice off hands parenting? She stared to draw in the snow with her finger. She wondered if things were bad at home. Ladybug felt bad for asking. "Sorry for asking about your family."
