As someone who is very fond of the character of Sasami and the various works she's been in (particularly the Pretty Sammy TV series, which is what got me into the genre) I'm inclined to be curious about this series.

I have no idea what it's like, but from what I've seen (the OP) it seems to go straight-up cute witch, right down to the black robes. Of course I know not to judge this based on the OP. as Pretty Sammy's OP had absolutely nothing to do with the series itself.

Anyone else had seen this who can give an opinion on it?

I've seen a couple episodes, it was pretty cute. 

Nothin really grabbed me from the get go, but I'd like to  see more. 

Its alot more....played straight? than Pretty Sammy (so no Pixy Misa *sigh*)

I own it on DVD. It's pretty good; nothing ground breaking but a fun watch.

But those giant eyelashes...

There aren't many magical girl shows I would call ground-breaking. 
There aren't many that I would say "wowed" me. 
Really it isn't a genre that I would expect such things from, and that's fine.

I've enjoyed many, many works that haven't been the most amazing thing ever. That's what it's all about, having fun watching a well put together anime starring a lovable cast.

I watched a couple episodes back in the day. Funmation had the first four episodes up on their youtube channel. Sadly I didn't get to finish it because they didn't put any more episodes up. I liked it. I thought it was cute.

Not just eyelashes, those eyes too. They're kinda scary looking.

Sasami's voice sounds a lot less quirky than in Pretty Sammy. She sounds a bit like the girl from Fancy Lala. Must have been an actual little kid voicing her.

I haven't started the show yet, I just snagged the first episode (had to work a bit to find it subbed) still debating if I want to start yet another anime.

So I finally got around to watching this. Four episodes in and I really don't know what to say about it.

It's very weird. Kinda quirky, kinda not sure what it's trying to do with itself. I suppose at this point they're just introducing all of the characters, but so far it seems like a standard cute witch type show from a decade where that sort of thing died out.

Sasami and Misao are alright characters this time around, though completely different from their Pretty Sammy portrayals. The other characters that get introduced range from obnoxious to non-existent. 

You have a girl who is defined by being short and makes up for it by being loud and obnoxious, you have your typical emotionless girl who doesn't care much about anything, and a loudmouth stalker with a crush who is jealous of the attention the emotionless girl gets from everyone else. 

Her introduction even had her nosebleeding because she accidentally conjured a shipping umbrella over the emotionless girl's head with both of their names under it. Then she puts one over her own head that says "For Emotionless Girl's use only!" with an arrow pointing to herself. Subtle.

If there's one thing I really don't like about this show, it's the fact that Ryo-ohki is reduced to a non-talking chew toy. I've had a great affection for that little critter since the original Tenchi Muyo series and I don't take kindly to seeing it constantly abused in this one.

I'll keep watching, but if this show doesn't strike me as interesting by the end of the first season, I probably won't pick up the second.
