So in CCS the manga had Clow made 15 cards while in the anime he made 52 (plus the void). Why the massive increase? Probably to make it the anime series last longer. So was this a good thing or a bad thing?

In the manga the characters were the focus rather than the cards while in the anime the cards were the focus rather than the characters. It's a sad pay off, but I dont think the characters suffer in the anime. Sakura still grows as a character so do her friends and family. Personally I like having that many cards! Some were pointless, but still!

I love having so many cards.  15 cards would have been really short.  That may work now that series are shorter, but it wouldn't have made as much of a splash back when all the cartoons and anime on tv were really long.

I can't say as much on the character development, though.  I haven't read all of the manga, and the volumes I have read were a long time ago.

Hmm I dont where I read it but someone said the anime lack character development? Which is kind of true because the manga did have more chapters where it was focus on the characters rather than the cards.

I like that the anime added so many extra cards. Some of them were kind of ridiculous, but any time I get to spend with these precious babies is time I'll cherish.

Plus, there are 52 cards in a deck, so it works.

The wave always seemed stupid to me because of Watery. But the fact Clow made the Bubble to wash Kero is hilarious. XD

Wasn't in the manga there was only 15 cards shown? Doesn't that there weren't more, just only a certain amount were illustrated.

Nope it was just 15 cards in the manga.

Hmm, well I think I like the expanded 52 :D especially the ones that Sakura made, the Hope Card.

This, honestly! I've only read the manga, but 15 cards is way too few. 52 makes much more sense, at least to me.

Oracle cards can be made up of any number of cards, so in a way it does make sense as well to have that many. 

I think we're suppose to assume she caught more off screen that we didn't see in the manga.

They made anime only cards. One of the Clamp writers worked on the anime.

Totally check out the anime Pudding. It's worth it.

You know, I've always gotten that impression too. When I saw the 15 in the thread title, I was like "no way... There can't be that few, can there?"

Actually, I think I remember reading somewhere that CLAMP worked with the anime team and gave them ideas for the various "filler" cards? I don't remember where I read it, so I have no clue if that's true or not, but if that's the case, we can assume that the cards we didn't see in the manga were there, just off-screen.

Oh, did they? I figured hope was an anime only card because it was made during a movie. The rest I figured we saw off screen. 

One of these days I'm going to get around to buying the manga and reading it :)

Yeah at least that's what Wiki pages said! The manga is wonderful. You should read it.
