It's time to talk about Tokyo Mew Mew's classy ojou-sama! For simplicity's sake I'm just gonna call her Mint at all times, because apparently the names of the characters are some kind of pun my brain can't process. I want to take a minute and say that even though I've never seen the dub, I really like the name they chose for her, Corina Bucksworth. It sells "rich, upper-class girl."

I initially started watching the show because I saw pictures and videos of Pudding and though she was completely adorable. I wasn't disappointed in this aspect, but I also really liked Mint. The first thing that stood out was the ballet influence in her transformation and attacks. After watching Princess Tutu I gained a great appreciation for ballet, so I was really happy to see that. I kind of wish her ballet performances were more focused on, instead of the one relevant episode not even showing her really perform.

I always loved the fact that 90% of the time she's at the cafe, she's doing nothing but sitting around drinking tea. If the cafe is just a cover/base of operations for the heroes, it only matters that she be stationed there. XD Mint knows what's up.

Another trait of hers that never ceases to be amusing is her near blatant girl crush on Zakura. It can be explained as being idolization, but it's hard to argue with scenes like this...









And apparently the dub actually made this STRONGER instead of censoring it.

I found the plot of episode 21 to be kinda confusing at first. I thought her strange dream was about being afraid of heights, but instead it seems she was just frightened by the reality of what it means to save the world. The fear of heights thing would have been interesting, but they did something similar with Lettuce just before.

And now I must take a minute to appreciate Mint with her hair not in its signature meatballs. 



And of course her adorable dog. I think her dog's name was Miki. I loved the scene where Zakuro teams up with the dog to inspire Mint to join the fight again.

Love Mint! She's my favorite mew! <3 I just love her personality.

Mint ended up being my favorite Mew. I dont think i can explain it, I just think her episodes are the most interesting ones.

I kinda wish they had just come out and said that Mint and Zakuro were a thing. I mean, it was pretty obvious that everyone involved shipped it. Mia Ikumi especially.

I loved the Mint theme episodes. My favorite is the one with that annoying rich girl who hates Mint.

Pudding was supposed to be my favorite. But my recently obtained love for snobby Ojou-sama type characters drove me to choose Mint as my favorite.

Mint's awesome!   And yes I do ship her with Zakuro.

For all her prim and proper manner she's just as much of a goof as the others. Trying to sell that ginormous thing for an equally grand price, then cheerfully declaring that she and Lettuce should compete to see who sells all of their items first.

Lettuce was like "Is she selling something too?" And the others are just... "It's better if you don't know."

I will always be disappointed that the anime glossed over her ballet episode. We didn't really even get to see her perform. Such a bummer.

And one year later I return... with absolutely nothing new to say. But I still adore this character and it bums me that no one does birthday art of her. But I guess that's what happens when your show is a not-so-popular kids show that's been over for ten years.

I actually like the character a lot but I can't draw her. my hands refuse to cooperate with me.

Mint was always my second favorite when I read the manga, but I never really knew why. Now that I'm trying to watch the anime, four episodes in, I can definitely see why she's my favorite. She's hilarious. I love how she screws with Ichigo. I'm looking forward to seeing her develop more - and seeing her crush on Zakuro. I remember I always shipped it, but back when I was into Tokyo Mew Mew years ago, the fandom was super homophobic and you would get shit for shipping them so much. It was crazy.
