Just recently I made a thread where I wondered if it was the end of the road for this franchise. As if responding to my happiness, karma slapped me in the face and said "Nope!"

It started with an image of a black and white wideface character dressed as ballerina. Color was added and revealed it to be Madoka. It turned out to be a teaser image for a video Shaft was screening at an anniversary event.

Then came this image.



Now it turns out, the "Concept Movie" is confirmed to be the groundwork for a new project for the series.

Already the cries of "Princess Tutu ripoff" are sounding off. And personally I don't care. A ripoff of something will always be terrible if that's the case this will likely be the final nail in the coffin. I doubt it is, as I doubt Shaft would do something so terrible after what happened with Rebellion. This could either be the thing that redeems the franchise, or the final nail in its coffin.

Interesting. Judging by Homura in that picture, it doesn't look like it'll take place after Rebellion. Maybe an alternate timeline or something? But honestly, the way this series is, I can't really make any sort of guesses as to what this could be, because they could pull anything at this point.

I'll probably watch this, since I like PMMM. I've never seen Princess Tutu, so I can't make any comparisons there, haha.
