Has there ever been an idea for a Magical Girl series or character you wanted to be a thing? Share it here.

For me, a thought that just occurred to me and inspired me to write this...

I want a Precure season (other MG series would be fine but I'll use Precure for this) where the main characters are a team of 4-5 girls whose moms were all a Precure team together when they were that age, and passed their transformation items down to their little ones. 

Maybe the moms could have been a team at an older age, like 17, and thwy would still hang out together and talk of the old days. They'd give encouragement and advice to the next generation and wish them good luck as they head off to combat the forces of darkness.

I want a magical girl in college. I just would like to see magical girls who are older in general. I know they exist, but it would just be neat to see one set in a college setting.

I've always kinda wanted to see like an adult magical girl but she transforms into a kid (like the opposite of Minky Momo and the like) 
I think it'd be a workable set up for a Josei (adult women) manga too.
Or just more Josei manga set around magical girls would be great on its own.

I'd also be really interested in a magical girl who is more native or south american influenced. there's so much interesting mythology, it'd be nice to see it be used more often

Mew Ami, I would also love an older magical girl just like BunnyBelle's idea of Josei.
For example, imagine that she's living her dream and she's also in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend. Could you imagine how hard it would be for her to suddenly be a magical girl? And to make things harder for her, imagine halfway through the series her boyfriend proposing? Something like that would be awesome! It would have real life problems but have that small fantasy/fairy tale spin. Plus, if it was Josei it would have some smut and be pretty adult. We need a magical girl show/manga for older teens/adults! 
Wow... just thinking about this makes me want to write a story now XD xx

Yes. More dark skinned magical girls. Especially once who incorporate upbeat tropical/salsa music and dances into their abilities. Like a Brazilian Magical Girl who fights with Capoeira or break-dancing-based powers.

when i say adult, maybe more like college aged? or at a point where they don't know what to do?
the "transform into an adult" shows usually have a message about having self-confidence as you are now instead of relying on magic. I think people of any age could use a little confidence boost

I'm thinking college as well. I like your idea Peach. The college setting would be prefect for that. She could be a senior getting ready to start her career and her long time boyfriend is getting ready to propose to her. It would be nice to watch a show with characters that deal with similar problems you do with it in real life. XD

I also like the idea of darker skin characters. Heck I think it would be cool to have a show with girls from around the world fighting in a team. It could be set in America since America has huge variety of diversity. The show can teach about different cultures and how to work together despite different values.

I just thought of something else I'd really like to see, more sci-fi magical girls!

like a magical girl who visits different planets to fight bad guys, or who sells magic goods to aliens, or pilots a giant witchy robot

I really like sci-fi anime too (Urusei Yatsura, Terra e..., & Macross for example) so this way it could be a combination of the 2 genres i love.

Watching Aikatsu gave me an idea!

In the show the characters use these cards that contain their outfits through some unspecified magic or something.

I thought it would be nifty if this idea was used in an actual magical girl show, but rather than do the outfit swapping thing from Happiness Charge, the cards would have different pieces of magical girl costumes.

Tiara cards, skirt cards, shoes, and such. Each of which has different abilities.

A top that produces a barrier.

Boots that make the wearer lighter than air.

A tiara that can produce a brilliant flash to blind opponents.

The possibilities are endless, and the characters would swap these cards around and create different combinations of abilities. 

Once they get used to them, they could co-ordinate the outfits so that the different powers play off of each other, like... the tiara shoots beams of ice and the boots lets the wearer move across fragile surfaces... like ice.

I'd like to see a properly done generational position mahou shojou. It was kinda in Bewitched Agnes but was more of a subplot than anything else. It was in Heartcatch but the Cure Flower didn't really do much in terms of instructing the new PreCures. Devil hunter Yoko had elements of this but that took a back seat to the main story. I want an inherited/earned position with training from the ground up; learning to transform, learning how to use magic, practicing their magic, etc. Maybe even an academy for training new magical defenders. That would go for a story arc or two then transition into the main character(s) being the defender and then eventually fighting the big bad. 

Parents who know their daughter(s) are magical girls would also be kinda fun to see. Mostly for the reaction of the girls after they figure out the parents know. These of course would be parents that are okay with their daughters wielding magic to do... whatever.

Another hilarious idea would be the majokko version of Dai-Guard: a formerly famous mahou shojou that saved the world a few years to a decade ago being largely ignored yet still trying to be the great defender but no longer has anyone to fight. She would be an OL at a company that might use her old image for advertising (and might make her do events to entertain children) but lo and behold the great evil is back and she has to go out and save the world again! While still doing paperwork, trying to have a relationship, stay on the clock and whatnot as an OL.

It would also be fun to see a genre savvy girl get chosen. Someone who constantly reads and watches magical girl stories who would then apply her knowledge to defeat the enemy. If any of the bad guys act outside the tropes she would call them on it and tell them they're doing it wrong, she'd guess what the bad guys want before they finish saying it; it'd be a ton of fun to watch.

I want a magical girl who can easily be done in real life.

Okay, it may be selfish since it's because I'd like to marry such a magical girl, but still.

Gonna do a thing different around today. Instead of a magical girl, today I will want a supporting character.



This woefully underused pile of adorable got me thinking... what if she was the supporting ally instead of Seiji? A cuddly little secret keeper who idolizes the team and supports them throughout their adventures.

She'd probably end up being the victim of the week a lot, but maybe she could have a more prominent role by being magical herself, in ways the main cast isn't. Like she could fulfill the role of Ai-chan from Doki Doki Precure, dishing out power-ups as an expression of how much she supports them emotionally, and possibly physically if she's ever willing to throw herself in the line of danger to protect them.

Who knows, maybe she'd become a Cure exclusively for the finale. And then people would be upset that she isn't around in the All-Stars movies.

That sounds kind of like some old Japanese monster film I saw years ago where the monster drew power from a little girl who found a tama amulet. The more she believed in the monster (Gamera, I think) the more powerful he became.

I haven't put much though into it but the premise could be based very loosely on how those figures interacted, such as Oda Nobunaga using a magic spell version of tanegashima on Takeda Shingen's calvary charge spell. Or even something as silly as a spell version of a political document like a bill, law or treaty. Might be good for laughs at the very least.

I just want a magical girl show with a team of boys and girls. They work together and help each other whenever their ally needs it. Gender does not play a role.

I feel like Nobunaga in particular has been done before tho (Sengoku Otome and Sengoku Collection for example) or atleast

I always thought the "lets take old historical men and turn them into hot girls" as kindof a strange idea. like could u just imagine a cutesy girl version of George Washington ("Georgie-chan"?)?  

maybe that idea but with famous Japanese women would be neat too?
like Joan of Arc's been in a couple magical girl shows already - but maybe some other famous ladies interpreted as magical girls would be fun
