So has anyone seen this magical girl series based on the Powerpuff Girls? I enjoyed watching it, but some things kind of bothered me. They really dumb down the villains especially Mojo. Also they changed the sex to someone the group villains. Like the Gang Green Gang. They made one the members a girl. Regardless it's still a cute series and I like how the girls were written....well for the most part. They changed Blossom big time.

I did. Not bad, Liked the remake of everyone save for Buttercup. I really did like that Bubbles, still being girlish, was like more mature. The villains...no comments, but 't is entertaining, especially how they avoided or tried to avoid extra homework.

I haven't seen it, no. In fact I was specifically warned not to watch it for the usual reasons "being stupid, boring, not as good as the original PPG". But after enjoying Tokyo Mew Mew and Suite Precure I've learned not to let other people affect my decisions, so who knows. I might check it out at some point.

PPG>PPGZ No argument here!
But for what it is, the PPGZ isn't terrible. There are some dumb changes, but I still found it enjoyable. I like the idea that the creators of the show took their own spin on PPG. I guess people were expecting a carbon copy, but anime styled. Nah there's no point for that! The original show is dubbed in Japanese. So why make the same thing?
Out of the girls Bubbles is my favorite. She's my favorite too in PPG. I liked seeing a mature Bubbles for some reason. I really did like the idea of the girls transforming to save the day and keeping their identities a secret.

Here's all of the opening and endings.
The second opening is my favorite! It makes a reference to the episode from PPG where the girls try to be their favorite superheroes.
This show is really cute. There is an English Dub. It's been dubbed by some Asian English dub company I believe. Sadly it never came over to the US. It aired I think in Australia? I watched a clip of it. Eh? I like it in Japanese better to be honest.

I think I saw one or two episodes and I didn't really like it at all.
it just wasn't very funny to me. sitting through bad comedies is something that I can just not deal with.
i might try it again though. It did have some pretty stellar looking transformation sequences in any case.

The humor can be pretty bad. XD I remember hating the rowdyruff boys. They made them super gross.
I guess this series is just a guilty pleasure of mine. I now want to rewatch it.

after watching the first opening, it kind of seems like well a girl punk band is gonna beat them up.. and my brain exploded… I'm gonna have to look this up.

Oh man, I loved PPGZ back in the day. It was one of the first anime I discovered when I first got a computer at age 12. I was a huge fan of Powerpuff Girls as a kid, and I was starting to get into Sailor Moon at that time as well, so... Yeah, that series was a favorite of mine. Sadly, I never watched the entire anime. I don't really have the attention span to watch lots of anime.
Actually PPGZ is incredibly special to me because the manga is what inspired me to start learning Japanese. I ordered copies of it on Amazon Japan (and let me tell you, they were hell to track down), and began teaching myself hiragana and katakana. I never got further than that with learning Japanese, sadly, but it was enough to let me do an incredibly awful scanlation! You can find it online if you look it up, actually. It's probably not very accurate because I was 16, and I used Google Translate, context clues, and a lot of paraphrasing, but I managed to create a coherent story so all is not lost.

I'm actually watching this series right now! And i really like it, and do not understand why it gets so much hate. One of the more common complaints is that they made Buttercup too anti girly but they seem to forget that A) She was like that in the original show and B) PPGZ Buttercup isn't anywhere near as bad as Reboot Buttercup.
PPGZ also helped me to like Blossom more as a character. In the original i found her a bit too bossy, and her "who should be the leader" arguments were also very annoying. In this show, she's much more interesting.
The villains are great for the most part, the only ones i've really disliked are the Amoebe Boys (or the two Amoebe Boys + one random girl????).

I totally agree with you about Blossom. I was never a fan of her in the original, even as a child, but in PPGZ, she's actually my favorite. I know a lot of people thought that the change was anti-feminist because they made her less smart, but... I don't know, I definitely liked how much sweeter they made her. The original Blossom could be really arrogant sometimes.

I feel like people will cry anti feminism at everything nowadays XD
PPGZ Blossom is a sugar enthusiast, boy crazy fangirl otaku which honestly, i think is very relatable, especially with young girls my age who are like this. I can definitely relate to Blossom, especially with the sugar enthusiast part.
People tend to forget that in the original show, the girls were kindergartners, and in this one they are middle schoolers. Which means they should be acting like tweens/young teenage girls in PPGZ because that's what they are!

Right! I also just find Momoko to be really entertaining. Blossom was kind of boring to me, haha. My favorite in the original was always Bubbles, because she's the cutest. I'm okay with Miyako, but I think that Momoko is closer to what the original Bubbles was.
