Anyone else a 90s kid like me?

I saw this post a while back showing a movie theater occupied by Cartoon Network characters in the past and present, and it's kind of depressing. They used to have an enormous amount of cartoons from memorable shows such as Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls and the like.

Now? It's mostly just Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball and the two or three things they've come up with recently.

The post explained that part of the reason for the decline of cartoons is because people are distracted by so much different things now, such as iphones and twitter and watching things on tablets.

But back in the day? Getting up at 7am to watch something was actually worth it. And that's another thing life is missing these days, Saturday morning cartoons, those were the good stuff.

Some of my personal favorites include...

Gargoyles

Sonic The Hedgehog (Appropriately referred to as SatAM)

Bonkers

Darkwing Duck

And finally, there's Project Geeker a most bizarre show even by modern standards that was killed at only 13 episodes because of the whole "Educational Television" thing.

I was 90s kid as well. I watch so many cartoons on Nick, Cartoonetwork, and KidsWB. My favorite out of all the shows I watch was the Powerpuff Girls.

It sadness me to see that kid networks really don't show much especially Nick. All they show is Dreamworks cartoons and Spongebob, and their stupid tween live action shows.  I have noticed that Cartoonetwork is trying to bring back a decent line up. I love Amazing World of Gumball. It's the cutest show ever. XD

I think it's slowly starting to get better. what with CN's new lineup and Disney XD. Also the HUB network has some pretty decent shows even if you put MLP aside. Nick may kinda suck now, but their side channel, nicktoons network plays some good stuff.

but yeah, its not as great as the 90s were, it terms of quantity.

the one that saddens me is local television. I remember on Saturdays and just flipping between FOX, WB, & ABC for all kinds of entertainments. Even the weekdays had their own cartoon block!

there was alot of dumb garbage in the 90s too, (does anyone remember Angela Anaconda? god i hated that show, and not just because i share the name with the main character)

Yeah there was garbage in the 90s well. I remember Angela, but I rarely watched Fox kids. I stuck to Nick, CN, and KidsWB. I would sometimes watch ABC cartoon Saturday block. I thought Recess was a stupid show as a kid, but when I see it now I kind of wished I watched it.

I was born in early 1980s but  I remember the 1990s show that were on like Gargoyles, Bonkers, Powerpuff Girls and Darkwing Duck. I really miss those shows because they were my childhood.

I'm also a 90s Kid (1995).

I loved watching Disney films (and still do) but the shows I used to watch the most between the age of 1-5 were, Tots TV, Rosie and Jim, Brum, Bear in the Big Blue House, Sing Me a Story with Belle, Teletubbies, Come Outside and there's loads more.

When I was 5, I loved Disney shows like Recess and then eventually as I grew older I started watching Kim Possible, The Powerpuff Girls and W.I.T.C.H. I still love most of these shows now! xx

Even I though I was born in the 90's, I am a 90's baby. I grew up mostly in the 2000s, but still watched some 90's cartoons. I watched classic Cartoon Network shows like The Powerpuff Girls and Nickelodeon classics. Also, I used to watch Toon Disney when they aired Aladdin, Tarzan and The Little Mermaid cartoons. I watched adult cartoons  that I was not supposed to watch such as The Simpsons ad South Park.

Half of my childhood, I did had cable. The other half, I had to watch local TV. So I watched PBS Kids. I liked the first five season of Arthur and watched older educational cartoons too.

Now as a teen, I am starting to watch more cartoons from the 1990s like Daria and Hey Arnold. I wish they brought more 1990s cartoon on TV so the kids these days would know them. Nowadays, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel has their dumb live-action sitcoms about being rich and famous or some other non-sense. Their cartoons airs in their sister channels: Nicktoons, Teennickand Disney XD. Cartoon Network is not like they used to be. They should air their old shows. I am sick of Teen Titans Go! reruns. That show irks me. Boomerang is airing less classics, and more modern junk. We need more old cartoons back on TV.

Boomrang is dead. It was CN's station to show old cartoons that my parents grew up. Now they show stuff with the 90s which is fine, but they're also showing new stuff? Teen Titans Go! was on it...

Bummer. I used to watch Boomerang all the time. They had good shows that my parents grew up with like The Flinstones, The Pink Panther, The Jetsons, etc. I am glad that I got to experience that. The kids of this generation should experience that too. But no. Instead, they have Teen Titans Go! and some other new Cartoon Network shows that are not that good.

The thing that I do not get is why Boomerang airs Teen Titans Go! and Gumball if they already air it on Cartoon Network all the time.

I was born in '94, so I don't really consider myself a 90's kid... I really grew up in the 2000's. That being said, I did watch some 90's cartoons as a kid... Namely Nicktoons. Nickelodeon had a channel on cable that played most of their older cartoons and game shows, so I watched a lot of that as a kid. Laugh My favorites were probably Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats, and Hey Arnold.

I watched Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls too. (God I loved Powerpuff Girls. That was my huge obsession in kindergarten!) I watched absolutely nothing from Disney, which is sad because I've heard a lot of their shows were good. Ah, well.
