I've been seriously obsessed with this game lately. 

Basically, it's a fantasy version of Harvest Moon, where there are the farming and friendship/relationship elements but you also get to travel through dungeons and go on adventures. >w<

It's actually really fun to play and I'm really enjoying the the story.

So do you play RF4? Have a favourite character or weapon/spells? What are your favourite monsters to adopt?

I've been looking at this game for awhile. Is it worth it? I have never played a Rune Factory game. I go on a Harvest Moon Forum when I'm playing one of the titles. A lot people on there kept bringing up Rune Factory 4.

I love Rune Factory, have played very little of 4 but "Rune Factory: A fantasy harvest moon" From ds caught my heart, Raguna especially and the brides.

The key difference with Harvest moon is that not only do you have to use "Runeys" to choose a balance to get crops, but also you have the chance to adventure on dungeons using magical weapons and spells to get across dungeons and get relevant items to use in alchemy and even in characters' wooing and storyline. This concept became a reality, in the late harvest moon games and early ds(I don't remember which) you had to cross a dungeon to see one of the hardest brides, the harvest goddess and then they made it a spinoff and it was a blast. Also they have antagonists which you have to beat unlike the Harvest Moon which is just making a life or saving the land in some cases.

Monsters: Elefun, Mamoo, Buffamoo, Wooly, The golem and The tiger and wolf series because one does not simply leave out monsters you can ride! I'm replaying Frontier and I have tides of Destiny for PS3.

Yeah, that is one of the most enjoyable aspects of it, I loved finding new magic spells to use and new weapons to try out. But, I also loved relaxing on my farm with my little Woolys and fairies helping out on my farm, it's also nice to talk to villagers too.

It doesn't help that Dylas has taken my heart in the game, either.
