I'm specifically referring to the ones that amount to complete gibberish, found in Cute Witch shows. Sakura's "I, Sakura, command you under our contract. Release!" thing doesn't count.

I was pondering the incantations used in shows like Creamy Mami and Ojamajo Doremi and two thoughts came to mind.

What is the criteria for these kinds of things? Like are they based on a Japanaese tongue twister or something?

Second? Why do they all start with the letter P, with some of them having the letter P be very prominent in them.

Persia's is: Perukko Raburin Kurukuru Rinkuru

Creamy Mami's is: Pimpuru pompuru pimmy pom pum!

I can't find a written version of Minky Momo's, but it may be even more P-Centric than the above.

And of course all the Ojamajos run on a P-theme.

"Pirika Pirilala Popolina Peperuto"

"Paipai Ponpoi Puwapuwa Puu"

"Pameruku Raruku Laliloli Poppun"

"Pururun Purun Famifami Fa"

"Perutan Pepton Paralila Pon"

And so on.

Is P just a naturally whimsical letter that helps make these sound silly and fun? Like the B in bippity boppity boo?
