Whether it's references in other Magical Girl shows or not, here's the thread to share any shout-outs and references to Magical Girl shows you see in anime, TV shows, video games and the like.

I'll start with this one from the latest Ace Attorney game.



I don't need to explain which show this one's referencing.

And now we have Persia/Pelsia referencing her predessessor, Creamy Mami.



She's trying to figure out the incantation she needs to use, and ends up quoting the one from Creamy Mami.

And speaking of Creamy Mami, we have here a reference from Tokyo Mew Mew.



In an episode of Pokemon, a pair of conspicuous cuties appeared!



In Outbreak Company, hentai DVD featuring Cure Rosetta appears.

And finally, on this week's Steven Universe, we get a Utena reference.

In the last episode of No-Rin the teacher, Becky has a Sailor Moon style henshin scene.

And if we remember a show called Reboot...

And who can forget Excel, voiced by the selfsame lady that did Usagi's voice

So here's a thing that I'm guessing is from Black Lagoon. That's the only show I can think of that has a character named Revy.



Now I want to see a magical girl show that makes a specific point to have normal guns be completely useless against the enemies.

That is indeed from Black Lagoon and speaking of shows full of guns, you should see episode 8 of Military!

I had actually forgotten about this one. More like my mind tried to repress it.

On Cross Ange, aka The most disgustingly sexist anime ever, one of the characters likes to dress up as a magical girl and strike poses and such.



She's also so embarrassed about being seen dressed like this that she tries to murder the apathetic protagonist who walks in on her.

She's also voiced by Eri Kitamura, who has voiced no less than three magical girls in the past. I guess that the joke.

If anyone watches Discovery Family they just dropped this little April Fools gem.  

And this happened. According to the pic's filename it's from episode 6 of a show called "Non Non Biyori Repeat"

As a new member I can't post any links yet so I  will say this...
 Look up Sailor Moon Darkwing duck.

The image amuses me.

From Hayate no Gotoku, which basically parodies EVERY SHOW(famous at least) in existence, we get this reference:

in Fushigi yuugi, Miaka Yuki also did what the character in Hayate no Gotoku( above) did.

One of the most popular characters in Undertale is an otaku reference overdosed lizard woman, who has a particular fondness for a franchise called "Mew Mew Kissy Cutie." A franchise that has "a trash sequel ridden with Character Derailment".



Her next response is basically "lol that's a joke right?" 
Typical anime fan not being able to handle people liking something she doesn't.

But yea this definitely sounds like a reference to the much loathed Mew Mew ala Mode.

It's not a specific reference, but around Motherbase in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain you can find posters of Paz the Magical Girl Idol of Peace. If you take them down enough a times a solider will remark about how expensive they are and how he wishes the person taking them down would stop.



It's a very dark, serious game for the most part so little goofy moments like that do a great job of easing the tension. Paz is voiced by Nana Mizuki in Japanese who also plays Tsubomi in Heartcatch Precure. In English she's played by Tara Strong which is worth noting if you count Powerpuff Girls as a magical girl series.
