| Haha! So I am kicking it old school and playing the original sims! My friend gave me the complete collection pack because it won't install for windows 8. I played this game as a kid. I didn't own it, but a friend of my did. We did some silly things and enjoyed the game to pieces. I even remember the secret code for more money. rosebud. |

| I only had one experience with the original Sims. It ended really quickly. The stove caught on fire and the phone was in the same general area so my sims couldn't get to it, and at least one sim died before I remembered I could buy another phone and call the fire department. Then the Grim Reaper came, and I didn't play sims after that for a long time.
I was reintroduced to Sims in college because a friend of mine had all the Sims 3 games and let me install them on my computer. Now I had a sim spontaneously combust without so much as a flinch. Oh how things change. |

| I never played the first generation of The Sims which is a shame because I love The Sims now! I played the sims 2 on the PS2 because I didn't know it was popular on the PC but when The Sims 3 came out I got it on my laptop and it wouldn't play right, and then I stopped then when I got my new laptop I thought I could play it, but the graphics couldn't take the game and my laptop broke xD I ended up getting a refund and then tried again (which was stupid of me to) and it wouldn't work so I stopped. Then I used my dad's computer and it worked! I got a few expansion packs but when I got The Sims Pets my pets were all funky, their eyes were sticking out so the graphics and the memory were at the game again T _T so I haven't played it in a month, but I'm looking forward to The Sims 4! :D |

| Xyasui, I had your problem with Pets the first time I got it as well. I was using an older laptop. I remember making a random file and getting a horse to test it, and the horse was some pretty bad nightmare fuel. Dogs and cats weren't much better. I stubbornly played it anyway and made jokes about it even though I was really disappointed that it didn't work right. Thankfully, I got a new laptop after graduating last year and it works perfectly because I have a better graphics card. I really wonder what it is about Pets that makes it more demanding on the graphics than the rest of the Sims 3 expansions.
I hope Sims 4 works for you when it comes out. I'm already worrying about system compatibility on my laptop (mostly because I switched it over to Windows 7 because Windows 8 is the worst). The Create-A-Sim and house building system both look so much better than what Sims 3 offers. I already want it. XD |

| Yeah I'm thinking of getting a gaming computer but I'd have to get people to help me build it because I'd end up blowing my house up or something xD But yeah, I don't think I'll get The Sims 4 just yet, It'll be just like my experience when I first got The Sims 3 but I think TS4 will be coming out on the PS4 so I might check it out on that console or PS3 :3 |

| I remember when playing the first game that my friend had the pets pack. It went funky too. We couldn't go to the store to get a pet. The game would crash. |

| I really want to play it with pets though ; A; I've Late Night, Date Night, Supernatural, Generations, Seasons and Pets so maybe it's because I've a few expansions installed ; A; |

| My sims dont own pets, but stray ones wonder around your house and walk in your house too. They kind of annoy me because they distract my sims. -_-
Speaking of walking into houses. I just love how sims have no issues with walking in on someone who's using the bathroom. I had one of my sims threw a party and like 4 sims were in one of the bathrooms. |

| They fix that in newer versions. Depending on personality, some of my sims have an existential crisis if their housemate walks in. Others just get mad and shoo them away with angry thought bubbles.
As for strays, I don't know if there's a way to keep them off the lot in older games, but I do think there's a way in newer games... |

| I hate the personality meter in the sim games. -_- I wish you can just pick one or the other or in between. No meter bar. |

| I don't know what that means... How does a personality meter work...? In Sims 3, they have actual traits to choose from. Those traits dictate how your sims interact with others. It's fun to stick sims with opposite traits in a house and watch what they do. |

| it's a little meter bar and you fill up each trait with a block. this is from sims 2, but one works like this. |

| Wow. That is... limiting... I probably wouldn't enjoy the older games much. I'm too used to Sims 3. |
