Also known as the reason I first watched this show. From the moment I saw this AMV of her character song I was immediately drawn in by her adorableness and her full-of-energy-ness. I had heard so many bad things about the show, but I ended up giving it a try anyway just cause of her.
I remember starting the show thinking "This is gonna be the longest seven episodes ever" since Pudding debuted around that time. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed the show itself, regardless of Pudding's role in it.
I can see why people would find her annoying. I usually find really hyper and obnoxious characters annoying, but there's something about Pudding's childish innocence that makes me adore her to no end. And she's not a brat at all.
I'm not sure whether to call her a little dense or just oblivious. It's usually funny though, like how she seems convinced that the animal her powers come from is a lion, rather than a monkey.
One of the most minor irks I had with TMM is that Ichigo is the only character who develops animal instincts. Zakuro for example never gets an urge to howl at the moon or chase cars. Pudding was already very monkey-like to begin with though.
True to TMM tradition, this girl's name is apparently meant to be a pun based on her transformed name. Since she's Chinese it gets even more confusing.
For the first name we have Pudding, Purin or Bu-ling.
For the last name we have Fon, Fong, Huang.
I just go with Pudding Fong, since it's easiest for me. Needless to say, searching for this girl on tumblr's tagging system is a pain.
Episode 20 is one of my favorites in the series. It gives us an insight into Pudding's life, showing that she's not just some goofy little kid, but instead is responsible for her entourage of creepily identical siblings. Then of course there's that heartfelt scene where Pudding takes on her little sister's teacher as a mother-figure, crying in her lap and releasing all of the emotions she's had to bottle up for the sake of her siblings. My heart broke during that scene.
