| " A social game called The Magical Girl Raising Project allows one in tens of thousands of people to be a "magical girl" — possessing extraordinary physical capabilities and looks, as well as special magical powers that set them apart from the rest of the human race. But one day, in a district containing 16 magical girls, the administration announces that it must halve the number of magical girls to solve the problem of magical energy. At first, the 16 magical girls race to collect more "magical candy" than their competitors, but the rules quickly become twisted, and it quickly becomes a murderous battle for survival among them"Currently it only has two episodes but it's already starting to feel very Madoka-ish (i mean, Nemu looks like Nagisa and Ripple is similar to Homura). I feel it actually works to the series' advantage.Discuss it here! |

| Didn't take long for the M word to spring up. It was inevitable.
And looking at the character designs (especially that one sleepy girl) I definitely get the impression that they're going for the same kind of cute girls/dark and edgy story clash that Madoka tried so hard for.
I wouldn't mind these kinds of stories so much if they were more like Daybreak Illusion, where the girls know what they're getting into and the powers don't come with some sort of hideous price attached to them. Just give me a dark show with magical girls being awesome that doesn't involve plunging them into the pits of despair and killing each other for the sake of it. |

| I did like this show, but I think that 16 main characters for a 12 episode series is way too many to flesh out in any way. Half of that would have worked better imo. It definitely had some of the most unique magical girl designs I've seen, like the robot Magicaloid 44, and Top Speed's bosozoku-esque witch outfit. |
